Baby Grand Piano - Childs Real Looking Toy Piano

Ranked #4,181 in Hobbies, Games & Toys, #48,426 overall

Are you thinking of buying a piano for your child?

I used to play piano when I was a child and I strongly believe that musical education helped me a lot in what I finally achieved in science. My child is still a baby but I am thinking of buying her a lot of musical instruments. I want to introduce her to the pleasure of playing fine musical instruments and learn along with her how to play them. I am not sure at the moment if it should be a "real" piano from the beginning or a toy piano, so this lens is about my search for a good musical instrument for my daughter.

I am very interested in my granddaughter having one. We have a piano and she has shown some interest. She will be 3 in February 7. Just not sure if the interest will hold.

beeobrien says:

As a music teacher for many years, I have to say real is best. But I am intrigued by the little pianos with full-sized keys.

Baby Grand Piano

Old baby grand strikes a chord at museum
IT'S been a circuitous trip for the grand piano now at the Redland Museum and like any piece there, it has a history. The piano, a 1930 Julius Feurich Liepsig, was a wedding present to Sally Thomason when she married Charlie Bowly, at the age 17.
Paul Hahn & Co. Presents A Solo Piano Concert with Two Time Juno Winner David ...
This piano has been painstakingly restored to factory condition by Paul Hahn & Co.'s team of expert Piano Restorers. While the piano is only 5'7? long, and is generally considered a 'Baby Grand', there is nothing small about it musically.
Churcher's College Junior School Piano Gala
Following a highly successful year of fund-raising, including a twelve hour Music Marathon and a 'Parents Perform' event, the Music Department at Churcher's College Junior School has purchased a beautiful baby grand piano. On Wednesday, with performers ...
It's Not Just Lunch; There's Tennis, Too
It's no accident that Roland Garros is the only one of the four Grand Slam tournaments to be played on clay courts, which traditionally have created a higher bounce and a slower game than matches played on hard courts or grass.

Great lens! I think little children should start with a toy piano first. Then after they are 7 or 8 years old, if they still want to learn you should move on to a keyboard with at least 61 keys. After that, when they are around 11 or 12, you can buy either a digital piano or "real" piano. This is what worked for me. Build their interest little by little. If you start with a "real" piano right away they might loose interest later..........

My dad played the mouth harp, accordian, and harmonica. My mother and sister played the piano. I play the piano by ear. One of my relatives on my dad's side of the family played the violin. I feel blessed. Excellent lens. Thanks.
