Baby Seat Strollers - Must haves for your new wheels!

Baby seat strollers or baby strollers can be a very expensive purchase. New moms and dads are usually on a budget crunch and need to pinch pennies anyway they can. One thing not to skimp on is a new stroller. While it might seem logical to save $50-100 by buying a cheaper model, it could prove to be a very bad decision.

The guide below highlights some strollers that have gotten great customer reviews, have some necessary features and won't deplete your pocketbook too bad!

Baby Must Haves - A newborn baby checklist page for new parents

Baby Seat Stroller Guide - Don't forget to consider age!

Many moms and dads assume all strollers work for all ages...unfortunately that isn't the case!

One consideration to make when deciding on purchasing a new baby seat stroller is the age of your baby. Some strollers are made only for babies, some for infants and others are designed for toddlers. While you might save some money on buying just a newborn baby seat stroller, you should consider the fact you might have to end up buying three or four more strollers in the near future. This could cost you considerably more money and you might have been better off buying one that will work for all ages.

One of my absolute favorite strollers is the Chico Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System stroller. This stroller has gotten rave reviews and we love ours. It can accommodate a new born all the way up to a small toddler. It is featured to the left.chico-cortina-travel-system

If you are looking for a stroller for a 6 month old or younger, consider that most kids this age can't sit up. You should consider a set of wheels that will let them ride fully reclined. Again, the Chico Cortina Travel System featured above is an excellent choice. This retails for around $300 and is an excellent value. The other golden egg that this particular system has going for it is that Consumer Reports rated it the safest car seat and stroller combo!

Shopping for a baby over 6 months old or that can sit up on their own, some good options are a standard stroller or an umbrella stroller. If you are looking for a very lightweight and sturdy umbrella stroller, many moms rave over both the price and how easy Maclarens strollers fold. Pictured below is the Maclaren Triumph Stroller which got top reviews from parents for being lightweight, maneuverable and super easy to fold.maclaren-stroller

- I ended up ordering this stroller through another website but I have the very same model. I absolutely love it! It maneuvers through a crowd like no other stroller that I have tried. This is a lightweight stroller that also manages to pull off a trendy appearance. I ordered it for my daughter when she turned eight months old. The closure and straps are so secure that I never worry about her flopping around, or falling out. The sunshade gives adequate coverage. The only minor flaw in my opinion, would be the lack of a flap window in the sunshade; so I can see her while I am pushing the stroller.

- i had gotten this stroller for my 1 year old and now he is 6 and i still love it and it was used everyday and iam having another baby and i dont think i need to buy another one it is still like new after all the years and use i love it!!!! so worth the dough!! :)

Chico Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System Customer Reviews

Some REAL customer reviews on the Chico Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System

- After spending a lot of time testing strollers in store, this one was absolutely my choice. My husband and I are both very tall and this is so comfortable to push around relative to height. I was actually delighted by how light the car seat/carrier was, and I thought the fold up was a breeze compared to some of the bulky Gracos we tested. Positioning the seat for forward...chico-cortina-travel-system

- The front wheels are lockable so they do not rotate. Awesome feature. There are many times I rock the stroller back and forth to comfort the baby while eating out or while in a long line at the store. When the wheels rotate on the other strollers while doing this, it frustrates me to no end! I love this locking feature. The material is the same material as our high chair (Chicco Polly Highchair - Adventure). The material gets spots very easily but they also come out easily. Just throw it in a cold wash without soap, high water level, hang dry and you are set...

- I love this travel system. So far my only complaint is how heavy it is. Other than that it has been wonderful. The car seat does not fit in shopping carts but I wear a sling anyway, so this was not a factor in my rating. It's really easy to use and has great safety reviews. My little guy (who is average in size) is 6 months old and still fits great.
