Baby Shower Party Games

Traditionally Baby Shower's were just for the women, but now they include the men and families. I know at my baby showers there were both and it was just fine with me. Honestly I just think it is a matter of preference - you just need to decide and go with it.

Sometimes I think it add to the fun to have some of the guys there. Let them know what they are in for and make them play along with the games as well.

This game is great fun and can be played while the Mommy-to-Be is opening her gifts. Game comes with game pieces and instructions.

Preparation needs to be done at least 24 hours prior to the baby shower. You will need an ice tray filled with water. (Water can be tinted to match the baby shower design colors.) Add one plastic baby to each ice cube compartment -- you can add two babies to just one ice cube compartment for twins! Guests get one ice cup and a Ziplock Bag or plastic cup and waits for the baby to be born.

From our experience, people will sit on the bag or put it under their armpit or do other funny things to get the ice cube to melt!

The Game comes with 16 babies to order -

(Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite - this one they had at my shower.

Needed: Baby Clothespins and Yarn to make a necklace for each guest.

Have each guest wear the necklace with the baby clothespins around their neck when they get to the party - everyone starts with one..The rules for this baby shower game are given out at the beginning of the baby shower that whenever someone says the word "baby" during the shower, any guest who calls it out gets a pin from the other woman who stated the word. At the end of the baby shower, the woman with the most pins wins a prize.

You can also use necklaces with Mini Pacifiers attache to each and just take the other persons necklace.

Give all your guests a piece of paper and a pencil and set the timer for 3-5 minutes - see how many baby products they can list. Examples, Pacifier, Crib, Diapers etc...

Who ever ends up with the most wins - sounds easier than it is. Give a prize to the winner.

This game is always a fun one. Have about 10 different kinds of baby food jars and enough spoons for each guest. Let each guest have a taste of the food and write down what they think it is. Who ever can guess the most wins a prize. If you have a tie then have an extra food and see who can guess it first. Oh and remember to remove the labels and number the jars and keep a cheat sheet,.

Add some fun and give each of them a bib to wear during this game.

A mother to be often has to run to the potty to pee. So as the guests arrive have them mark down on a piece of paper how many times they think she will run to the potty. Make sure you keep track - maybe with a paper stuck on the bathroom door to mark. At the end of the party see who guessed correctly and award a prize - maybe a toilet paper roll to the winner.

Use small pieces of white material that can be folded into small diapers, a small piece of chocolate and safety pins. In one diaper wipe melted chocolate and then fold them all into diapers and pin on your guests as they arrive.

Tell them they will be told later what it's about. At the end of the party ask everyone to remove their diaper and open them up. One person should have a "special surprise" inside. The melted piece of chocolate! Ewww, but fun.

Now this is a fun one to watch. Which guest is the best SUCKER. You can fill your bottles with drink of choice and on go see who can suck the best. If there is a tie keep going until you have a winner.

This is the perfect time to get some great photos!!!

If you use alcohol - make sure they are not driving!!

All you need is some pacifiers with handles you can hold and Straws.

The first person will place a straw in their mouth and place the straw through pacifier handle and in their mouth (the straw in their mouth not the pacifier). When you say "go" the first person passes the pacifier to the next person who should have their straw in their mouth and lets the pacifier slide down their straw (without any hands and no contact other than the straw). Everyone on the team passes the pacifier from straw to straw, no hands, no contact but lots of fun.

In your invitations have each of your guests bring a Baby Photo of themselves. Have a board set up and have it put on that board with numbers next to them as they arrive - pick one person to be in charge of this who will not be participating.

Then later after everyone has arrived give each guest paper and pencil and see who can figure out who is who. Give a prize to the one who can come closest - maybe a photo frame.

This is a lot of fun and much harder than it sounds.

Oh and that is my little Angel in the photo - she is now going to be 9 - I miss babies!!!

In your invitations or as the guests arrive to the party have them fill out an advice card. You can attach this onto a tree or stick them into a box for the mom to be to read either at the party or after.

I bet you will find some very funny advice and believe me people really like to give you advice.

You need to gather a bunch of baby items for this one like Powder, Diaper, Safety Pins etc...
Put them all our on a tray so you can easily pull them away. Give everyone a piece of paper and pencil. Bring out the items so all can see - set a timer for 1 minute or so and then take them away.

Of course when the game is all over the Mom to be gets to keep the loot.

This was played at my baby shower and helps the guests from getting bored during the gift opening.
Have some pre -printed blank Bingo cards and pencils available. When Gift time comes hand on to all the guests who want to play. Have them fill in all the spots with the things they think the Mom to be will receive.
Then as the gifts get opened they can mark off their card and the first to get Bingo wins and you can play until the card is full as well.

What you need:
2 Baby Dolls, Onesies, Diapers, Socks, Shoes, Shirt, Pants - the more the better and a stopwatch

You can play in teams or do 2 at a time. On go each guest will have to dress the baby with all the clothing given correctly when they think they are done the have to yell - Finished. Once checked that everything is on correctly then mark down their time and continues until everyone has had a turn. In the event of a tie - then those two will do it again until you have your winner.

Obviously the more buttons and snaps you have the better!!!
