NURSERY COLORS
The easiest and least expensive theme would be to use colors from the mother-to-be's nursery. This theme keeps you from having to purchase decorations all from a particular idea. This theme gives you the choice of being free. Nursery colors theme lessens the burden off of you. You are given the freedom to use any kind of tableware, decorations, wallpaper, and decorations for the shower.

NOAH'S ARK
The Noah's Ark theme is not that expensive either. You can easily use some old stuffed animals, children's boats, Noah's Ark wallpaper, and a couple of tables. The invitations can have pictures of Noah's Ark with animals. Simply place the stuffed animals on tables----elephants on one table, zebras on another table, lions on the other table, etc. This theme will be very interesting to decorate as well.

BABY RUBBER DUCKIE
Baby rubber ducky is another unique baby shower theme. There are many items that suit this theme including baby shower decorations, plates, cups, favors, and games. The baby rubber ducky theme is probably the easiest theme of all to prepare. This is because almost every mom has rubber duck items inside their house. Some adults still have rubber duckies in their bathrooms. You must admit you will not have to search very hard to find any items to use with this theme---i.e. yellow baby rubber duckies.

GUESS THE MEASUREMENT.
Shower attendees all gather in a room. Gain a ball of yarn. Each attendee is then told to cut a snip of yarn that they believe will fit around mother-to-be's waist. Each attendee then takes turn trying the yarn on the mother-to-be. The player with the closest guess wins the prize.

BABY MOLD.
Attendees are given a small amount of Play dough. Each player is to create to their expertise their greatest sample of a baby with the Play dough. Have each player put their initials on the mold. Put each mold in a box. Let the attendees judge each mold by round of applause. The player with the most applause is the winner.

RECALL GAME.
Place baby items on a tray, in a box, or on a table. Have each player go around and look at the tray, box, or table. Have the player then leave the area from which the items are located. Give the players 2 minutes to recall the items on the table, tray, or box. The player with the most correct items wins.

DON'T SAY "BABY".
As attendees arrive, each is given a safety pin or clothespin. Instruct them to clamp the safety pin or clothespin onto their shirt. Let them know that they are playing a game and that they cannot say the word 'Baby' and of the consequences of saying the word 'Baby.' If the player is caught saying the word 'Baby', they person that catches them saying the word gains the pin or clothespin. It is very fun to try and trick the players into saying the word. At the end of the shower, the person who has gained the most pins wins.

TICKET RAFFLE GAME.
We all want to leave the shower with a gift. We all also want to be the winner of something. So, calculate the number of invited guests. Buy a variety of gifts. Number the gifts accordingly. Give each guest a number as they enter the door. At the end of the shower, call out the numbers off of the gifts. Each guest is then a winner of that prize. In this game, everyone leaves a winner.

BABY PICTURE GUESSING GAME.
Instruct each shower attendee to bring along with them a baby shower picture of themselves. Number the pictures. On a piece of paper, write down the names of the guests' picture. Stick each picture onto a poster board or bulletin board. Have each attendee to guess the shower attendees with their baby picture. Have someone keep count of which player gets an answer correct. Players cannot answer to their own picture. The attendee who guesses the most pictures correctly wins.

Baby shower gifts should be something that the mother-to-be will appreciate and cherish. It should also be something that she can use later. Purchasing this gift may be a bit difficult. It is hard if you do not know the likes or dislikes of the mother-to-be. Therefore, most people take the more traditional approach. Others take a nontraditional approach. Whichever kind of approach you take when buying a gift-expensive or inexpensive. Just make sure that it comes from the heart and that is what creates unique baby shower gifts.

I know you may be saying, "Well, why jewelry?" You may even feel like jewelry is an unusual baby shower gift. Really, it is not. Actually, the new mom will be so surprised; she may not be able to speak.
