Baby sleep problem 2 - No bedtime routine!
Did you know that babies need to be trained to sleep through the night. It is important that you provide a consistent bedtime routine for your baby, which consists of all of the things that you do to help them get ready for bed. If you set up baby sleep patterns your baby will soon learn that at the end of the routine it is time to sleep. Some of theses rituals might include a bath, taking a last feed, a quiet playtime, reading a book, changing their diaper. This should also include developing good sleep associations, these are the things that your child associates with falling asleep. Falling asleep while nursing or drinking a bottle, sucking on a pacifier or being rocked are not good ideas, since if your child wakes in the night, they will need those same conditions to go back to sleep, such as a favourite toy or blanket.
Do things to help your child learn the schedule and after a while your baby will know it's bedtime.
