Baby Shower Decorations
The first time I was in charge of coordinating baby shower decorations, it was for my best girlfriend's shower. She was having her first baby, a little girl, and I thought this would be my chance to show my so-called "girly" creativity and make some homemade baby shower decorations. I couldn't wait!
Now at the time I had a full-time job, an active social life, and was attending night school twice a week. I barely even had time to sleep, let alone eat, but being the type I am, I still thought I could "do it all".
Boy, was I naive!
The first mistake I made was trying to get everything done within a really short timeframe. I figured all I needed to do was some shopping for streamers and balloons, supplies to make a centerpiece for the table, and plates, cups and napkins for the food. Oh, and I thought I'd come up with a few fun games on my own as well.
The second mistake was thinking that everything would go smoothly and without a hitch.

A week before the shower, my supervisor at work told me I had to go out of town for an emergency meeting. I couldn't say no...this was my job, after all, and it's not like my supervisor was going to care about a baby shower! At that point I had only managed to buy the cups, napkins and baby shower plates, and was scheduled to come home the night before the shower.
To say I panicked is an understatement! There was no one available to take my place in handling the baby shower decor, but there was no way I was going to let my girlfriend down, either.
I did end up pulling off the baby shower (by shopping madly on the Saturday morning of the party), but it was a stressful process and I vowed never to put myself in that position again.
Since then I've learned to focus more on my baby shower planning, and I've also found that the best way to go is to buy most of my baby shower decorations online.

These days I order almost all of my baby shower decorations over the internet. The main reason is because of the great selection available at your fingertips.It's fun, easy and saves me time, money and stress. Besides, driving and standing in line are not my favorite pastimes!
Browsing baby shower websites also gives me a lot of inspiration. I like to find unique favors, centerpieces and table decorations, as well as new decorating ideas, and I always find something great online.
Oh, and two other words that make online ordering so great: Home Delivery!
My Readers' Favorite Baby Shower Decorations Theme - "Pea In A Pod" or "Sweet Pea"
Many of my readers are looking for "sweet pea" or pea in the pod decorations for their baby shower. This popular theme is sooo cute and the green pastel colors are appropriate for girls and boys and, of course, twins, triplets and beyond!I've used various pea in a pod decorations at the baby showers I've coordinated. My favorite of these (pictured here) comes as a set of plates, napkins and cups, and there are favors and a super-cute baby diaper cake to go with it.
The sweet pea diaper cake can double as the table centerpiece and as a gift for the mother-to-be (my practical "inner Mom" loves it when something can be used for more than one purpose)!
