Baby Shower Invitations
Ask anyone who's ever organized a baby shower event and they'll tell you that one of the most important things that you can do to make sure it's a success is to send out proper baby shower invitations. It's a fairly time consuming task that requires a fair bit of creativity, and the best thing is that you can make it look easy to your friends while doing it exactly in your style. I'll share some of my personal experience with you.
I had my first baby shower when I was 22. My co-worker Liz at CIBC Financial was set to have a baby in a few months time and you could actually feel the excitement in the office. I remember this like it was yesterday, we came back from lunch on a sunny August afternoon to find suspicious looking envelopes on our desks. Now, we normally get our mail in the morning so my first thought was that it was some kind of a joke. As I said before though, I was not the only one with the envelope on my desk so the curiosity throughout the office was somewhat peaked - until one of my friends opened hers.
You guessed it right, we all got baby shower invitations. Plain looking envelopes and poorly worded text. The excitement just went away. I was still excited because I love baby shower events, but you could easily see the face of disappointment on my co-workers faces.
Now what went wrong? Several things: first of all the style of your baby shower invitations sets the theme of the entire event and represents your personal style. Do you want to come off as boring and uncreative to your friends? That's what Liz ended up doing without even realizing it.
I also see so many "free" websites offering bad advice, be careful where you take your advice from. I personally recommend this site.
