Baby Crib Mobiles

What makes a great baby mobile? Is it one that makes you smile when you see it because it matches your baby's room? You probably are picking it out while you're still pregnant...it's exciting to choose your baby's room furniture and accessories.

What about the baby mobile for the crib? What should you be choosing?

- above all, look for a mobile that was made with safety in mind. Make sure it fits securely and has no loose parts that can loosen or fall off.

- soothing colors and shapes are chosen by some, while other people feel that shapes and bright colors or patterns are best. I'll tell you what...your child is not going to be any more brilliant because of one particular mobile over another...don't buy into the idea that you HAVE to buy a certain mobile...buy a mobile that you find to be soothing and comforting to your baby.

If your baby wakes up in the middle of the night, seeing this mobile above them gives them something to look at. It's a safe way for a baby to learn to fall back to sleep. You may also choose a baby crib mobile with music to help sooth your baby to sleep.

Some mobiles also have projectors which project onto the wall or ceiling...no matter what you choose, know that it's not a "make or break" decision. :) So many people worry about making the right choices, but sometimes choosing something like a mobile, we tend to overthink things.
