Baby Einstein
Babies are naturally curious, fascinated by sights and sounds from the world around them, with each moment of the day an opportunity for discovery.
Baby Einstein award-winning programs are designed to expose the youngest children to the world around them through the use of real-world objects, music, art, language, science, poetry and nature.
Owning at least one "Baby Einstein" video is practically a given for today's parents. Right up there with a stroller, high chair, and other baby-gear essentials, DVDs bearing the "Baby Einstein" brand name are topping baby gift registries and wish lists.
The History of Baby Einstein
The Baby Einstein Company was started in 1997 by Julie Aigner-Clark, a mom who discovered that there were no age-appropriate products available to help her share her love of art, classical music, language and poetry with her newborn daughter.
To fill this void, she created the very first Baby Einstein video title - Baby Einstein Language Nursery. The company's name was inspired by Albert Einstein - someone who truly embodied a love of the arts, simple curiosity, and a passion for discovery.
The success of her products traveled fast as new parents readily shared with each other their experiences with Baby Einstein.
Baby Einstein eventually attracted the attention of The Walt Disney Company, which purchased the company in 2001. As a subsidiary of Disney, the production budgets were increased and the concept was expanded to teach more complex topics that would appeal to preschoolers. A line of educational toys was also developed.
Although Julie Aigner-Clark no longer owns or operates the company she founded, she is active as a consultant and spokesperson for the series.
With an established worldwide presence - in 30 countries and in more than 25 languages - "Baby Einstein" has clearly garnered a reputation with mass appeal.

Baby Einstein products are not designed to make babies smarter
Rather, Baby Einstein products are specifically designed to engage babies and provide parents with tools to help expose their little ones to the world around them in playful and enriching ways - stimulating a baby's natural curiosity.
How to Reinforce The Learning
Children who benefit most from the screen are those who interact with the parent simultaneously and post-viewing. The more interactive you are, the more of a likelihood that learning will take place.
Watching together is also beneficial for the parent, who might otherwise be hard-pressed to find a creative way to extend the learning process.
Whatever the video is doing, repeat it and make it a point that you explain what is happening. That might be anything from singing to dancing along. Don't worry if you're not Ginger Rogers; your child will enjoy the fact that it's you who's doing the fancy footwork.
Baby Einstein My First Signs DVD
As babies grow, their eye-hand coordination begins to improve as their ability to interact with their surroundings blossoms. It is the perfect time for My First Signs.
