Baby Gender Diet can Sway the Odds
Does what we eat have any effect on determining baby gender?
According to many recent studies it does play a part in swaying baby gender. If you are wanting to sway the odds in favour of a baby boy or baby girl naturally then changing your diet is an un-intrusive method that may work for you.
What I find interesting, is looking at friends who have conceived the same sex children and what they eat, there does seem to be some truth to the matter. Below you will find a list of foods that will sway the odds in favour of either a baby boy or baby girl.

A diet of acidic foods and lots of calcium and magnesium is recommended to help sway the odds in favour of conceiving a girl. These include:
Dairy products such as cheese, milk, yogurt
Eggs
Rice
Pasta
Fresh fruits in particular grapefruit, apples, plums, prunes and cranberries
Carrots, beans and corn
Fish
Foods To Avoid If Wanting to Conceive A Girl
There are certain foods that need to be avoided if you are wanting to try and sway the odds in favour of conceiving a girl with diet. These are the foods that will create a more alkaline environment.
One of the main things to remember is to steeraway from salty foods. Others include:
Most fruit and vegetables, particularly bananas because of the high levels of potassium, potatoes, watermelon and spinach
Most nuts, in particular almonds
Tea and coffee
Orange juice
The girl diet is a lot harder than the boy diet. Having to stay away from coffee and tea can be difficult as many Moms (me included) rely on their caffiene fix. I have taken to drinking Tea now, one a day. A case of dunking the tea bag in and out! It doesnt look much like Tea but tastes OK. My hubby has cut down on coffee as too much coffee in either the man or woman can play a part in reducing the chances of getting pregnant altogether.

An alkaline based diet will make a male friendly sperm environment. The alkaline diet includes foods such as:
Meat - bacon, ham, sausages
Fish
White bread and pastries
Soups
Carbonated drinks
Processed foods
Salty foods
Go bananas, with bananas - these have a high levek of potassium which makes an excellent male friendly environment.

Foods To Avoid If Wanting To Conceive A Boy

There are certain foods that are best avoided when wanting to sway the odds towards conceiving a boy, these are foods with a high PH level. Such as:
Dairy products such as cheese, milk and yogurt
Most fruits
Most meats
corn
I personally would not reccommend cutting out fruit all together as this is part of a healthy diet. An idea would be to cut back on fruit and replace it with vegetables.

Yes, whats the harm with changing your diet ?
Jo says:
Yes, all you're changing is the likelihood. God still decides in the end what you're going to wind up with. That's like saying "I'm not going to study prior to this test, I'm either smart enough to get a good grade by the graces of Gd, or I'm not", doesn't make much sense. I have two wonderful loving daughters, but I really want the experience and relationship that comes along with having a son, and so does my husband. Altering my diet (not in an unhealthy manner) and timing sex doesn't seem an unfair attempt to attain that. But like I said before, we'll only get a boy if that's what God wants. And either way, the child will be in a loving home with parents who adore him/her.

I don't blame those doing it, but I don't think I would do it. Although it is easy to speak when you already have your children!

Best Baby Gender Test
It's not going to Happen Overnight....

Unfortunately, it's not as easy as eating a few bananas for a couple of days or drinking a couple of milkshakes.
The baby gender diet needs to be followed for at least 6 weeks prior to trying to conceive. This is how long it will take to change the PH level to being more acidic or alkaline.
If you are choosing to follow the Baby Gender Diet then you will need to continue with the diet until you are pregnant.

- Interesting article. I think the male/female dynamics of the parents also contribute. We all have a proportion of male/female elements to our personalities and physicality's. As Chinese philosophy states Yin cannot pertain without Yang.

- I never knew a gender could be chosen by influencing diet and that too naturally, great information for families who want to make that choice.

- It does make sense that diet can change the ph of the vaginal mucous to encourage either male or female sperm.

- Yes, but before it was done with thermometer...But it is interesting that I have two girls, and my diet is very "girly". Pasta, rice, fruits and (at the time) no coffee!

- I have a boy and a girl but didn't try to "sway the odds". My sister did however try to eat the girl-producing foods. But it didn't work for her.

- I love this lens. Great information and I know there are many people out there looking for it. I used to do ultrasounds; so I've met several who 'tried' to sway the odds. I can't say they ever worked! But I did see a lot of interest (more than I'd have thought) ......*Blessed* ;)

- Hi,
Your post caught my eye. I recall a recent report in the news about a study suggesting that expectant mothers on whole grain foods during pregnancy are more likely to have boys at birth. Thanks for your info.

- Thanks for your comment Jill_Jack. It really does help by creating either an alkaline or acidic environment for the egg to be fertilized in. If you ask around with women who conceived boys or girls you will often find that they favoured the foods that got them the gender connected to those foods :)
