Baby knits
Great, soft and washable yarns!
(when you don't want mom to have to hand wash)
- Patons Grace
- This is my favorite yarn for baby sweaters.
- Lion Brand Cotton-Ease
- Knitters revolted with this yarn was discontinued. We must have been heard because it's back, with wonderful new colors. A great, sturdy, yet soft, worsted weight yarn. Perfect for baby and kids' knits, and perfectly affordable.
- Schoeller + Stahl Baby Cotton Yarn
- Limited colors, but wonderfully soft fingering weight yarn.
- Schoeller + Stahl Baby Merino Yarn
- DK weight, great colors, soft merino yarn.
- Jaeger Baby Merino 4 Ply Yarn
- Fingering weight, luxury washable merino yarn. Perfect for very special projects. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it.
- Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4 Ply Yarn
- More Jaeger luxuriousness. Washable merino 4 ply, great color selection. Again, worth the added expense for this special yarn.
- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted Solid Yarn
- Shepard Worsted solid colors and multi colors - too soft for words. Study, washable, wonderful worsted-ness. Highly recommended. You won't want to stop knitting!
- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport Multi Yarn
- Again, DK weight, wonderful colorways - great for baby and kids' knits. Too soft for words.
- Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Solid Yarn
- Traditionally known as sock yarn, I have used shepard sock as a fingerweight yarn for baby knits. Can't beat the colors, multi and stripes. Worth the price.
- Bouton d'Or Layette Yarn
- An acrylic yarn I can recommend. Limited colors, but a good value, and great yardage.
- Karabella Aurora 8 Yarn
- This is a wonderfully soft worsted merino. Check out the color selection. Another personal favorite!
- Karabella Aurora 4 Yarn
- DK weight, merino. Worth the price.
- Lana Grossa Meilenweit Cotton Fun Yarn
- Another traditional sock yarn that can be used for fingering weight projects. Fun colors.
- Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Baby Yarn
- I would have to categorize this as a luxury yarn for baby knits, but it is oh so heavenly. You won't regret the cost once you've made the decision to induldge. Limited colors, but wonderfully soft.
- Debbie Bliss Cotton DK Yarn
- Another indulgence worth the price. You may, however, never want to knit with anything else.
- Rowan Cotton Glace Yarn
- Due to the awesome colors, I would have to say that this is one of my most favorite yarns for baby knits. It is extremely durable, and gets softer with each wash. Worth the price.
- Rowan RYC Cashsoft DK Yarn
- Too soft for words. Great colors, durable, pleasant to knit with.
- Rowan 4 Ply Cotton Yarn
- Another favorite - great colors, soft, great ply.
A bit expensive, but worth it. - Rowan All Seasons Cotton Yarn
- One final Rowan recommendation - simply wonderful colors. Worsted weight, sturdy, washable yarn. If you are willing to splurge for a baby knit, you won't regret this one.
- Sirdar Snuggly DK Yarn
- Sidar has many good baby yarns.
This is an acrylic that I can recommend, although the colors are a bit too traditional.
