Neo was born on Wednesday, 21st July 2010.

8th February 2011 -
Neo is not well since last one week. he is having cough and cold. He also had high fever for 3 days and it was a tough time for Neo's parents. Now only his cough is there and Neo is happy with the homeopathic pills. He loves to eat the white pills which tastes sweet. He hates allopathic medicines and the syrups. He vomits out sometime if the tastes are real bad.

These days he loves to shout on top of his voice and loves humming and will be busy doing that. If you challenge him for a good shout, he will make sure that he wins.. by shouting on top of his voice. And he giggles when he becomes the winner. He loves doing this with his big bro, all the time.

7th January 2011 -These days Neo is enjoying his solid food. We have started giving him a mix of rice lentils water, however he loves eating CERELAC (Nestle) and he really looks forward to his meal time. Also he gets very angry and frustrated if he is made to wait in between his meal. The spoon should not stop. He will keep his mouth open and keeps gulping the cerelac. It is lovely to see the way he enjpys his meal. I have introduced only Rice Cerelac so far, and I will soon add up other flavors. He also loves eating grapes.

2nd December 2010 -

Neo is very very cute. I know all mothers think like that for their children. It is but obvious. Our cute baby Neo is busy drooling and making bubbles and he blows tiny bubbles out of his mouth. This he does when he is upset over something, he is hungry and wants me to feed him, he will keep on blowing tiny bubbles and it looks like that he is telling me something.

Neo did enjoy a lot on Christmas and New year.This was his first Christmas. There were many gifts for him and on new year's eve we took him out for dinner and he enjoyed his first doughnut. Also there was some parties which he attended and everyone we went, he was the center of attraction. Here's Neo dressed in all red - just perfect for the Christmas!

Chagumba (Manipuri) - Annaprashan(hindi), also known as annaprashan vidhi, annaprasan, or Anna-prasanam is a Hindu ritual that marks a baby's first intake of food other than milk. The term annaprashan literally means "food feeding" or "eating of food". The ceremony date is decided after consulting a priest and the time/age for the baby also differs based on baby's gender. In most of the cuture it is carried out when baby is of 6 month's age.

Commonly referred to in English as First Rice, the ceremony is usually carried out when the child is about 6 months of age. It is an occasion for celebration, and extended family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend. The mother or someone elder in the family will feed a small spoonful of food. Other members of the family then take turns to give the child a taste.

And in this puja, there are various objects placed in front of the baby like gold, money, books/pen, soil etc and it is believed that whatever the baby touches, his future is indicated by that.

We celebrated Neo's Chagumba ceremony on 23rd December 2010 after consultation with our family priest and all relatives came over to wish Neo. He was already very eager to eat :) And he touched the book placed in front of him. Let's see if he becomes a scholar!

For that day, we dressed him in our traditional outfit. He wore a dhoti and kurta with a cute turban on his head and we put chandan on his forehead and nose as per our tradition. He was looking very very sweet and adorable. Everyone was eager to have a snap clicked with Neo. Here are some snaps from Neo's AnnaPrashan ceremony.

1. Your baby now realizes where sounds come from, and he'll turn quickly toward a new one.
- Neo is very fond of unusual sounds and his brother entertains him by making different sounds and everytime Neo bursts into a big laugh or he will simply give a big smile.

2.Babies may now be able to recognize his own name and understand that.
- Neo recongnizes his name and whenever we call him, he turns his face towards us. He responds when we call baby or Neo as big brother still loves to call him "Baby".

3. At this age,babies can let you know in clear ways when he's angry, bored, or happy and when he wants you to pick.
- Neo loves to play and be interacted with. He hates when he is left alone in the room. He will keep himself engaged for a few minutes with his toys but after that he will start shouting. The most lovely thing about his is that whenever he is angry and he is crying, he will keep his eyes closed. And when you go near him and call him, he will open his eyes and give a big smile. He feels good by just our presence in the room, even if we are doing our own stuff.

4. These days he is always trying to hold his feet and put them in his mouth, so most of the time he is busy holding his legs and pulling it towards his mouth and even when we make him stand for sometime, he is very focussed towards his feet and is busy looking for them :)

Well i have often heard that siblings do resemble each other a lot. Now I am getting to see that it is true for my children also. Neo now looks exactly as his big brother. When we look at old photos of his elder brother, it seems they are Neo's photos juct clicked recently.

Every baby has his own signs and indications and a mother usually knows, you call it mother instinct. You slowly start understanding the signs. My cute baby Neo will rub his eyes a lot. earlier i used to feel that there is something in his eye and he is getting irritated, later on i realized that he wants to sleep. He looks so sweet and cute.. he will just keep on rubbing his eyes, till you hold him and rock him a little.

Neo loves to giggle and laugh. You just do some odd action in front of him or just show your fingers moving towards him, he will start laughing. His laugh is infectious. Watch the video below and you will believe me.. i am sure you will also start laughing along with Neo.

Neo is so fond of laughing that he started laughing right when he was 10-12 days old. Well the sound was not so effective as it is now, but you could make out from his face.. his LOL.. i simply loved. I have captured some nice shots of his LOL moments. Here is one of them..

Neo loves his big brother and big brother also loves Neo a lot. He says that he loves Neo the most in this whole world. When he asks Neo .."Baby Neo, whom do you love the most?", baby Neo puts his fingers in his mouth and while doing that the index finger is pointed towards big brother.. so big brother is very happy and he feels that Neo is pointing towards him.

He has been talking to Neo right when Neo was in the tummy. Every day after coming from school, he will spend at least an hour talking with Neo, asking him various questions and Neo would respond by kicking. Neo was very very responsive right from the tummy :) . In our country, checking the gender before baby's birth is a crime and baby's gender is always a surprise element in our pregnancy unlike other western countries. But our elder son was very very sure that he is going to have a baby brother only.

Neo just loves to play in the water and he looks forward to his bath time daily. Even if he is in deep sleep and you wake him up and put him in the tub, you will see him smiling and having fun. He will try to splash the water with his tiny legs and when we put water to clean his hair, he will try to lick the water. It's fun to see him taking bath.

Neo is very fond of looking at the colourful books and he will keep staring at the pictures. So whenever he cries, we show him a colourful book and he stops crying instantly. His love of books is inherited from his big brother... his brother used to read to him everyday, even before Neo was born. Big brother would open his childhood bedtime story books and read out one story everyday to his baby brother.

Neo loves listening to nursery rhymes. He has a rattle from Fisher Price with nursery rhymes and so far , it seems he loves the old Macdonald the most.. specially the E I E I O lines :)

Here Neo is wearing a golden color dhoti. This was stitched by me for his first Diwali Celebration. In Diwali we wear traditional dress and the dhoti which I bought for Neo from the market was small for his size. So i did reverse engineering by opening the dhoti and learning how to stitch one. The dhoti came out very nice but it was a perfect fit for Neo that he could wear it just for the day :).

Pampers - Neo has been using Diapers from Pampers and we love the fact that it is so thin and it fits nicely on Neo.

Mothercare - Neo has been using Mothercare baby products like their bath soap, body lotion, rash cream (touchwood, we had to use it just once), baby bubble bath.

Mothercare - Most of Neo's dresses are from Mothercare and some are from mee mee brands.

Graco - Neo's cot is of Graco brand. He loves to play with the mobile attached to the cot.

He loves playing peekaboo and it's great fun to play the game with him.

Neo loves his butterfly rattle and he can keep himself busy playing with the rattle for atleast half an hour, after that he gets tired and will start crying if noone is around. He will cry and seek attention.
