Baby Nursery Decoration Can Be Fun and Suit Your Style

There are so many things to set up when preparing for the arrival of a new baby. It is a very exciting and busy time. Sometimes expectant parents put off decorating the nursery because they aren't sure how to create a fun space for a child. They are so used to decorating the rest of the house in their own style, that they struggle with this new task. What many do not realize though, is that the general style of the house can be carried over to the nursery, but in a very fun and kid-friendly way.

For parents who prefer clean modern decor, the nursery can be done in basic white and black or brown. The crib can be very sleek and in one of these colors. Stimulating geometric artwork or painted shapes can dress up the walls. Also, a series of circular, square or rectangular mirrors could be arranged in a pleasing pattern. Picture frames painted in one of the basic colors could also be hung to create a piece of geometric art.

To create a bit of a rustic feel, why not but an unfinished crib and stain it (using non-toxic stain, of course). Then refinish one or two other old furniture pieces (like a wardrobe or side table) in the same stain. Hang a funky light and toss in a colorful, chunky rug and your baby will have a very unique space.

To suit a more neutral palette, a room can be painted in beige or tan. Layering in soft pieces in similar but not quite the same shades can create a beautiful and soothing environment. A fluffy, neutral throw rug and simple artwork can create a subtle yet stunning space.

Of course, there is always the bright, bold and colorful option. What child doesn't love a room done in vivid colors and crazy patterns? There are many, many choices in this area and the choices and combinations are practically endless!
