Baby Potty Training

Hi, Welcome to my Squidoo page. I created this lens to show people that baby potty training doesn't have to be a frustrating thing but instead a fun experience for you and your toddler. To make things fun for the both of you, you'd have to have the correct mindsets. That's why instead of giving you guys techniques which are pretty much available anywhere. I'm going to talk about the mindsets which you'd have to dig a bit harder to find elsewhere.

You see, What a lot of people don't understand is that even while your child cannot speak the language you speak yet this isn't a potty training problem he or she can still be potty trained. Communication can be done through baby talk and body language.

Not being able to speak to your child and the pressure that you should be potty training at a certain age can create frustration in both you and your baby if you approach it the wrong way. Disappointment should only be shown to the mess your baby has made and not your baby. That's right you should only show you're disappointed at the mess. You can do this by showing that you don't like cleaning it up through your body language and facial expressions.

You must be prepared to go through the baby potty training process. This may sound funny because it's the baby that is being potty trained. However, you need to be mentally and emotionally prepared. You should be willing to give it your full attention and be willing to be consistent. You may have to be prepared for the mess that you'll have to clean up and changing nappies.

If you're a working mom or dad you need to take 3 to 4 days off work. It's important that you focus on potty training your child and not get distracted by anything else in your life. Once you start this process you must not stop. Stopping will send mixed messages to your baby.

This is pretty much all the mindsets that you'll need while baby potty training. In short again, they are to be positive, show disappointment to the mess only, stay focused and be consistent. Happy potty training!
