Baby's 1st Birthday

1. Save a date
Choose a date that is accessible for most like a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. You aren't going to please everyone...ever!

2. Decide on a place
This can be your own back yard, a park or an entertainment ceneter like Chuck E Cheese or McDonalds. Remember, you have to clean up at your house.

3. Make a guest list
Make a list of the people that you would like to attend. You can make it a small gathering with close family members or go all out and throw a bash.

4. Decide on a theme
A theme doesn't have to be a character. Baby isn't going to remember. Sometimes, less is more. How about picking one or two favorite colors and go from there. Characters come with a price tag. Pink and purple plates are going to be much cheaper than Dora(and more elegant in my opinion).

5. Decide on entertainment
Entertainment can be music, a clown, games and more. What ever will keep your guests happy and occupied will work. Make sure your entertainment is age appropriate.

6.Invitations
Will you make these yourself at home, buy them in the store or perhaps have a very talented designer make them to print?

7. Food!
Food is 1/2 of your entertainment. Don't skimp out here. The time of day that you will have your party will tell you what kind of food you need to have. Want less expensive? Have your party mid afternoon when people have already eaten lunch and will leave before dinner.

8. Favors
Favors can be as simple as a bag of candy or as elegant as a personalized gift. A favor is a way to thank your guests for coming and tell them that you appreciate them.
