Baby Shower Centerpieces

Baby shower centerpieces..you don't know it yet, but in the next 2 minutes you're about to discover the secret to impressing your guests with your artistic skills...

Baby shower centerpieces are an exciting challenge for the creative mom. If you're not one of those artistic types, or you're stuck for ideas, don't worry...living in England I didn't really know what a baby shower was, never mind a baby shower centerpiece! Anyway, as a mother of two, Matty, 18 months, and new baby girl, Ana, 5 weeks old, I wanted to get invloved in the fun..

Everything you ever need to know about baby showers

Baby shower centerpieces came up over and over again on the net as something us women want to show off as really special, but also appropriate and thoughtful. If I'm honest I want something that will get comments and be appreciated by our guests. I mean who wants to go to all that effort and no one even bothers to compliment your efforts?

If you're anything like me in this respect, I've uncovered a couple of tricks and ideas that you can use to create your beautiful masterpiece...

One really cool kind of "pure and peaceful" idea I really like is to get hold of some pretty little floating candles and and a elegant bowl filled with water surrounded by flowers, either artificial, made for aquariums, or just the heads of sunflowers, that will sit on top of the water. Use your imagination to come up with a beautiful floating flower and candle design.

How to throw a baby shower with style and flair

I love flowers and will try to create a flower arranagement perhaps with Mylar balloons to keep it child like and fun. Nestle everything in a large vase surrounded by tissue paper.

If you're more crafty and want to get even more creative, try making votives roses...

All you need is long plastic ballon sticks plus the caps, a hot glue gun, tulle squares, ribbon, green floral tape, and silk leaves.

This is what to do next..

1. Fix the stick to the ballon cap

2. Glue the bottom of the votive to the ballon cap. Be careful with the hot glue. I've found it can be a little messy.

3. Use the tulle square to wrap the votive

4. Start to wrap the ballon stick with green floral tape starting from the base of the votive. Add a few silk leaves on the way down the stick.

5. Use a lovely ribbon bow to finish off.

6. Continue this process so you can make up a wonderful bouquet. If it gets a little boring, just think of the end result and those comments. Take your time and it will be worth it.

Baby shower centerpieces are only limited by what you can dream up. Spend a little time and effort and create something that will look fabulous on those photos and home movies for a lifetime.
