Why Should You Sign with Your Baby?
Signing with your baby has many benefits as well as the joy and pride it will bring you there are many other benefits including;- Increase IQ - research in America has showed that kids who signed as babies scored on average 12 points higher in IQ tests
- Increase in bonding - as you really understand your child
- Decrease in tantrums - as your baby is less frustrated
- Increase in self esteem and confidence - as your baby can communicate his feelings
- Wider vocabulary and a greater understanding of language at an earlier age
Common misconceptions about baby signing having a negative affect on speech have been proven to be wrong; in fact speech therapists are now including sing language in their baby development sessions as a great way of encouraging speech and expanding vocabulary.
