I Lost Love TOO 

A long, long time ago, I lost the only person I have ever thought I was meant to be with. It was right around September when it happened. I had to go through the usual holiday routines without him next to me.

Anger Rode In 

My wish did not come true. I did not get my ex back for the holidays. I spent about 6 months in turmoil, then I started replacing the pain with hate.

With each day that passed, my anger grew. I was mad at him for the heartache he had brought on me, for the emptiness I felt inside, but mostly I was mad at him for having an affair. That is what destroyed it all, but it could have been saved.


Well, he finally called about a year and a half later. He told me that he couldn't imagine spending the rest of his life with someone else.

My anger towards him, had escalated to such a strong hatred and right out resentment by that time. I told him I was in love with someone else and I could not imagine spending the rest of my life without them. I was in a rebound relationship at the time. I made the worst mistake of my life that day.

Anger Replaced By Deep Regret 

I did not truly hit me until about 5 years later, that I Had Let The Love Of My Life Go. I got through those years by holding on to the anger and resentment, in order to survive the pain of losing him and when I had a chance to turn it all around, that pent up anger got in the way.


I have spent a long while now, living with a deep rooted regret that has stained my soul. I still feel he was the one. I got in the way of what was meant to be and I messed up what could have been.


He is gone now. He lives in another state. He is married and they have a child. I will spend this holiday like so many past, secretly wishing I could somehow, maybe by a miracle occurring or something, get my ex back for the holidays.
