Back to Basics Lens Challenge
Ranked #4,368 in Squidoo Community, #298,959 overall | Donates to Squidoo Charity Fund
Keep it Simple!
No co-brand templates allowed. You have to start from scratch.
That means your completed lens, including the intro and one guestbook module, will only consist of 7 modules total.
You get to choose which 5 modules you are going to use but be careful, this challenge is a lot harder to accomplish than you think. In fact, after completing this challenge you might just find that the famous quote, I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time., is true of lens building also.
Your "Basic" lens can be about any topic you choose.
Here's a few ideas:
-- Create a review lens about your favorite product, movie, cd, or book.
-- Create a tribute lens about your hero, or favorite celebrity, or friend.
-- Make a lens that spotlights your favorite charity.
-- Use the Valentine's theme to create an online Valentine's Day card for someone you love.
Top lenses from this week's challenge will be featured at the So You Want to be a Giant Squid? and the Giant Squid Showcase blogs on 2/10/2010.
Keep it simple. Keep it basic. Have fun!

- Although the Challenge is over, the idea of getting back to basic lensmaking has appeal. Sometimes I get carried away adding and adding. I should try lean and clean for a few lenses.

- Wow, I didn't know I needed to post it my challenge lens here. I just posted on the thread in the forum. I'm sure it was obvious to everyone but somehow I missed it. Hope I'm not to late. :) But I'll have learned for the next one.

- Question about our Back to Basics lens created for the B2Bchallenge. Once they are created and published do they have to stay 7 forever? Mine is starting to suffer from growing pains and is about to burst out of its clothes. She has so much more to say and I have to keep telling her to "Keep Quiet!".

- I did a back to basics lens focusing on a "basic cooking skill"--how to peel a potato. What a challenge!

- So hard to limit yourself to only five modules - I didn't realise how much I liked spreading things out :-) A very satisfying challenge. I think my lens could be a little more interactive, but I'm happy with the result.
