Za Choeje Rinpoche and Ashley Nebelsieck have co-authored a book titled Backdoor to Enlightenment. More than just a heartfelt story of mystery and discovery, this revolutionary work stands out as a smart, clear guide, showing step-by-step how you can use these astonishing truths to transform every aspect of your life. There might not be a shortcut to your dreams, but there is a Backdoor!

The book combines a fiction story with non-fiction methods of reaching enlightenment. This is the first book in a series.

Za Rinpoche is a co-author of Backdoor to Enlightenment

Za Rinpoche first came to the world's attention when his life story was chronicled in the first chapter of Po Bronson's megabestseller, What Should I Do with My Life? In The Backdoor to Enlightenment, this revered teacher and Tibetan monk discredits common myths about how to grow spiritually and find happiness in our lives. According to Za Rinpoche, there is no need for us to spend a lifetime striving for absolute perfection, an unattainable goal. Instead, we can experience the joy and satisfaction of enlightenment right now, human imperfections and all. Za Rinpoche introduces six qualities--generosity, morality, patience, effort, concentration, and wisdom--that all of us must understand and incorporate into our everyday lives in order to live happier, more balanced existences. Blending centuries-old texts with contemporary wisdom, he shows readers of any faith how to use these qualities to bypass the traps and limitations of modern life and achieve lasting peace every day.

While growing up in a refugee camp in Southern India, he was recognized by the Dalai Lama as the sixth reincarnation of the Za Choeje Rinpoche. He is the founder of the Emaho Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Scottsdale, Arizona, dedicated to sharing Tibetan culture with the West, supporting humanitarian projects, and assisting with personal spiritual development. Za Rinpoche teaches throughout the world, while maintaining his obligations as the spiritual leader to many monks.

Za Choeje Rinpoche was born in 1968 in India and recognized by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, as the reincarnation of Zachoeje Lama in 1984. The first Zachoeje was the founder of all the 13 Gelugpa Monasteries in the Tehor region of Eastern Tibet, and was seen as the leader, not only spiritually, but also supporting the people and community in many ways. Since then, all of the reincarnates of Zachoeje have continued in his steps by providing for the the needs of the people. Unfortunately, the previous Fifth Zachoeje was arrested by the Chinese Military and held in prison for 4 years and died in 1962.

"It is my goal to continue, as my predecessors have, to provide assistance to the people of Tibet, especially now in these difficult times when the future of Tibetan culture and heritage is on the verge of collapsing." Rinpoche has a foundation
called Emaho which raises funds to help his people.
