Some past experience
Just some decades ago obtaining public records on people was something I am afraid of thinking about. It was a time and force consuming process. For instance, you had to learn everything about your neighbor or co-worker. You have some suspicions of these people and you would like to check your doubts. You could choose one of the following ways to deal with this problem.
Try it yourself!
On the one hand, you could do the search process yourself. At least that would guarantee that the records you obtain would be just what you need. But when I start thinking of this tedious business: trying to have some background investigation about some person yourself; it gives me the shits. You ask for info your friends and acquaintances. To do it successfully one needed lots of energy, time and ... acquaintances. That wasn't a perfect way out.
Do you mind an investigator?
On the other hand, you could have an investigator to do all the dirty work for you. Even though you would not work yourself, but just sitting calmly at home and waiting, the variant, to my mind, also was not an ideal one. Who knows how much time the process of investigating would consume? And who can guarantee that as a result you would get appropriate information. You see, there are no more detectives like Allan Pinkerton in our world. Personally, I would not trust other one.
What is situation in the sphere of searching for public records nowadays?
Those were the scaring scenes from the past. Today the situation changed. You don't have to waste your precious time and save your piece of mind. All the information can be searched in no time. You even don't have to leave the place of yours. The only thing you need is the internet. You know that the web-technology took a quick step forward. You can search for information on every person you wish and obtain public records on him. You simply choose a search web site, register there, and pay some fee if the site is not free. After this you will have an access to a huge database, where you can get to know all background information. Any time. And one more advice: work with pay sites (such as Government Registry, for example). Because only this kind of search program can provide you with a wide range of records including the rare ones such as arrest and birth records. And the free sites don't have this service.
