Want to Get Rid of Lower Left Back Pain?
Recurring lower left back pain that comes out of nowhere is brutal. Nobody can really see it, so it's impossible to convey what you're feeling to people. And finding some kind of solution can block out everything else until you get some help.
Surprise! You've Got an Aching Back!
Man, my back has been KILLING me. Specifically its my lower left back pain that's the main problem. But guess what? Because I'm constantly trying to contort myself in weird positions to find a position where I'm NOT in pain I've now got brand new pains from all the straining. Don't get me wrong these new pains are irritating in a sort of unpleasant aching kind of way, but the pain in my lower back is almost indescribable. The worst part is I wasn't even doing anything strenuous!! I could understand if I had been trying to lift a piano on my own or do a one man moving job, but here's what happened. I was in my kitchen, I dropped my fork, bent down to pick it up, started to stand back up and SNAP. I heard and FELT -- I'm not sure what to call it -- but if felt like something came loose, in a very dangerous way.
I was literally frozen in place. I couldn't move left, or right, or stand up any higher, or even bend back down. I was just frozen in place. I actually looked like a guy about to throw a discus. Have you ever seen Rodin's discus statue? That's pretty ironic considering we're going to be talking about "slipped disc" in a second. In fact let's get to it now; see I didn't know WHAT had happened to as soon as I could tip-toe over to my computer I find out what was going on.
And chances are that's the position you're in. You want to know...
After a few days I DID find a website that gave me all the information I needed to explain my lower back pain and what could be done to end it. You can click this link and visit them here. There is a section called CONDITIONS and under that "Types of Pain." There is also a section called TREATMENTS but I think you might want to check "conditions" first. They have a discussion FORUM too, but I went to the VIDEOS section to watch some descriptions.

Maybe Something in Your History Caused the Flare-up
Anyway as I said, I couldn't imagine why I would be getting this kind of pain without any obvious cause. You cut your hand on glass, you bleed. No surprise. But hanging out doing nothing should not have caused a back pain issue. Now on a very minor level I guess you could say I've had recurring back pain, but I wouldn't really call it chronic. But let's back track. I hate to sound like an old man but hey, I guess I AM one now. Few years back I had to train for some Navy stuff and so got really into exercising, and one early morning at the gym I had a brief workout and then started to do a little stretching to cool down and it happened. It just HIT ME. But as it wasn't SUPER PAINFUL. It was the worst back pain I'd ever had-up to that point-but bearable. Had to take it easy for a few weeks. But I understood the situation; I had been working out for an extended period, so the pain made sense.
About 6 months or a year later I was jogging down a flight of stars to meet a delivery guy at my front door, and on the ground floor it HIT ME again. And I got frozen in the half up, half down disc thrower position and that time the pain was worse than the first time. And like this most recent flare up the cause of the pain didn't make any sense. It was out of the blue. I went to the doctors and they couldn't tell me anything
! They put me on muscle relaxers, but I had no idea why I was having the pain. And worse, no solution. That's why I recommend stopping by that site I mentioned above; they have...

The Nature of the Pain
So after the first week my walking had progressed to a perfect Planet of the Apes gait. I was starting to sort of limp around, still hunched over, with a sort of menacing ape movement. And as I began to do my research I started reading about herniated disc, sciatica, pinched nerves, L5, hip pain, SI joint dysfunction, fibromyalgia-basically the works and that INCLUDES "wallet syndrome." Yeah, there's a leading authority belief out there that too much stuff in your wallet in your back pocket and sitting on it all the time can lead to back pain. AH HA.
Now we're getting to the meat of the situation. Like diabetes there are basically 2 types of back pain. The kind you're born with and the kind you develop. Now, I've known people born with spina bifida and scoliosis, but most people with back issues develop them in their lifetimes-like me. And there are a variety of causes AND solutions. I want to put the operating table as my personal LAST solution.
The Lose the Back Pain site proposes a leading belief that I'm hearing over and over about an imbalance in the muscular development on either side of the spine. There are a couple of ways you can approach this.
