Do You Feed Your Backyard Birds?

From the lens How to Feed Your Backyard Birds.

Do you have many bird feeders or just one or two? Or do you just prefer to let them do their own thing?

I am an avid bird watcher and I love wild birds. I do feed my local birds with bird seed and many are attracted to a wild bush that grows outside of our kitchen.

I must show this lens and your other one about butterflies to my 9-yr old. She loves butterflies and birds and wanted to know how and what to feed the wild birds here in FL.
As I said on a previous lens, you are quite the bird expert!

We have several types of birdfeeders, and really enjoy inviting many different types of birds into our yard.

I can't have bird feeders where I live now...but when I move, I'll be able to feed them again. I like to put out hummingbird feeders as well as the small thistle tubes. You covered this subject very well. Look forward to reading more!

Well, it is surely one of my distinct pleasures to feed all our backyard birds -- and of course the cats -- and hope that those cats don't snatch the birds ... so far, so good. Lovely lens.

I love feeding the birds, they come to expect...and know where to find the goodies.

I envision some of the birds going yard-hopping -- visiting different yards and feeders to see who has the best stuff out for the day :-) They are fun to feed!

I don't have my own backyard (since I live in a city), but I do have a funny story to share.

My parents put up a feeder full of thistle seeds, hoping to attract goldfinches. None came. Finally, my dad hung up a big sign, "SPECIAL FOOD FOR FINCHES". The birds came the next day. Apparently finches can read. ;-)

    Smart finches :-)
