Backyard Bugs - They're Everywhere

You know them, they're the ants, the ladybugs, and even that pretty little butterfly. They are bugs. Or, to make is sound nicer we could call them "insects." They populate the backyard yard and are some of the first inhabitants that children come into contact with when they begin to explore their world.

What to do with them? Well, since there are more of them than humans, it's probably not fruitful to assume they'll just go away one day. So maybe having a "Bug Day" or "Bug Week" would be a fun way to learn more about these small but interesting creatures who share planet earth with us. Here's a growing compilation of ways to celebrate nature and especially the back yard.

My 9-year-old grandson LOVES bugs, so I'll have to check into some fun 'buggy' activities for him for my next visit. :-).

These bug pages sound like fun, and definitely something to keep kids entertained. I look forward to paying them a visit.
