The great items made from wood by Lisa and John Schultz

I have always loved woodworking and started a business called Backyard Wood Designs. I specialized in quality made outdoor furniture at reasonable prices. I recently started creating additional items for sale that are a wide range of items from kids toys and furniture to household items, holiday decorations and much more. Like anyone else who creates and sells things they usually enjoy it. I really enjoy making the childrens projects because while I am working on these projects I can't wait to see the childs face when they are going to receive the item that has been created. They are usually so excited. The hours of joy that the children get from some of the toys I have made is really great. All of the items that are available are usually enjoyable to make and are not considered to difficult. I will be making many different types of items and offering them for sale on several different websites that will be listed as links. I ask that you let your friends and family know about the items available that they might be interested in. New Update: My husband John is helping with woodworking and he loves turning items on the lathe.

Handmade Wooden Candy Dishes

There are many different items that can be made from wood

scalloped candy dish made from cherryI recently tried my hand at making all different kinds of candy dishes. Many different shapes and sizes, I think the best part of making these wooden dishes is using different kinds of wood to add a unique finish that is natural. I currently make these dishes with a scroll saw. I incorporate different kinds of wood, different shapes, and angles and different sizes. I sure was amazed at the different designs that I was able to obtain. Imagination is the only limit here.

Craft Fairs

Great places to sell your product

Support your local crafters and artists!I made a point to apply as a vendor for some local craft fairs this fall. This is a whole topic of its own. It was a great experience and we sold many products we wouldn't have sold otherwise. The best part was some of the great people I got to meet and some of the wonderful things people make. I sure took on a new appreciation for doing something that you really enjoy and it shows in the work people do. I ask everyone who reads this to Support your local small businesses in your area this really does make a difference and with continued support the businesses in your area will only get stronger. Lets stop encouraging cheap items made from overseas that only lasts for a short time when you can by quality handcrafted items right here in the USA that will last for many years. Thank You for visiting this lense.
