Welcome to Season 7, Paisans!

Alright, alright - don't get excited. It can get a little rough in here. If you want to talk to Tony, you'll have to have a seat in the bar at the Bada Bing and hope that he gets around to you. Afterall, waste management is a time consuming business. He'll see you when he's done talking to Sylvio. If you're lucky, ya prick, ya.

In the meantime, have a look around. If you get tired of the girls, you'll find trivia, photos, links, quizzes, DVDs, books and a whole lot more family heirlooms. Keep your hands to yourself, tip the waitress and for fuck's sake stay out of the back room. Paisans only.

The Sopranos: The Complete First Season

The season that started it all! An innovative look at the life of fictional Mafia Capo Tony Soprano, this serial is presented largely first person, but additional perspective is conveyed by the intimate conversations Tony has with his psychotherapist. We see Tony at work, at home, and in therapy. Moments of black comedy intersperse this aggressive, adult drama, with adult language, and extreme violence.

The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season

In its second season, The Sopranos sustains the edgy intelligence and unpredictable, genre-warping narrative momentum that made this modern mob saga the most critically acclaimed series of the late 1990s. Creator-producer David Chase repeatedly defies formula to let the narrative turn as a direct consequence of the characters' behavior, letting everyone in this rogue's gallery of Mafiosi, friends, and family evolve and deepen.

The Sopranos: The Complete Third Season

"So," Tony Soprano asks analyst Dr. Melfi in the wake of not-so-dearly-departed Livia's death, "we're probably done here, right?" Sorry, Tone, not by a long shot. Unresolved mother issues are the least of the Family man's troubles in the brutal and controversial third season of The Sopranos. Ranked by TV Guide among the top five greatest series ever, The Sopranos justified its eleven-month hiatus with some of its best, and most hotly debated, episodes that continue the saga of the New Jersey mob boss juggling the pressures of his often intersecting personal and professional lives.

The Sopranos - The Complete Fourth Season

Carmela to Tony: "Everything comes to an end." True enough, Mrs. Sope, but on The Sopranos, the end comes sooner for some than others. Though for some the widely debated fourth season contained too much yakking instead of whacking, and an emphasis on domestic family over business Family, what critic James Agee once said of the Marx Brothers applies to The Sopranos: "The worst thing they might ever make would be better worth seeing than most other things I can think of."

The Sopranos - The Complete Fifth Season

These 13 mostly riveting episodes unfold with a page-turning intensity with many rich subplots. Estranged couple Tony and Carmela (the incomparable James Gandolfini and Edie Falco) work toward a reconciliation (greased by Tony's purchase of a $600,000 piece of property for Carmela to develop). The Feds lean harder on an increasingly stressed-out and distraught Adriana to "snitch" with inevitable results.

The Sopranos Whack List

HBO's Official Site
The 13 episodes of last season, Season 5, focused on mob boss Tony Soprano's separation from his wife Carmela, as well as the new challenges he faced at home and work, from within his immediate family, other mob families, and law enforcement.
The Sopranos - Family Values
According to the latest rumors, the season will start airing March 2006. Also, the name of the first episode of the season will be "Members Only". The episode is written by Terence Winter and directed by Tim Van Patten.
The Sopranos on IMDB
The similarities between Bill Clinton and Tony are eerie and perhaps not coincidental, because the series began in the Clinton era. Both Tony and Clinton are powerful men with put-upon but loyal wives, an embarrassing sibling, accomplished daughters and affinities for cigars, fine food and oral sex.
Soprano Sue's Sightings

Quotes: Tony Soprano

Words of wisdom from the patriarch himself.

- "You equate love with money!"

- "Good morning, Rat."

- "I won't pay. I know too much about extortion."

- "Buy real estate. God's not making any more of it."

- (Dr Melfi:Have you ever had a prostate exam?) "Are you kidding? I don't let anyone wag their finger in my face."

Sopranos Trivia

Honor omerta and keep this information to yourself.

- In the pilot episode, a group of senior citizens is seen watching an episode of, "The Rockford Files (1974)". David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos, got his first big job in the business as the producer/writer of The Rockford Files. David also based the character of Tony's mother on his own mother whose name is also "Livia". You can see David in episode #17, "Commendatori". While in Italy, Paulie speaks Italian to a man at a cafe and the man ignores him. That's David!

- Dominic Chianese who plays Tony Soprano's uncle on the tv show also played mafia member Johnny Ola in the movie, "Godfather: Part II (1974)".

- The "Bada Bing" strip club on the show is shot at "Satin Dolls" in Lodi, New Jersey.

- The "Green Grove Retirement Community" is shot at the "Green Hills Retirement Community" in West Orange, New Jersey.

- All of the characters on this HBO series own a Philips television sets. You think maybe they all "fell off" the same truck?

- Actor Frank Vincent played Phil Leotardo on the series and killed someone in the trunk of his car while they begged him to let them live. Frank played a role in the movie, "Goodfellas" where he got killed in exactly the same way.

- Actor Michael Imperioli who plays Christopher on the show shot someone in the foot for being disrespectful in episode #8, "The Legend of Tennesee Moltisante". He also appeared in "Goodfellas" as a character who got shot in the foot for being disrespectful. By the way, besides acting, Michael whose character on the series is struggling to become a screenwriter, is also a screenwriter in real life!

- In the beginning, there was some concern that viewers might think the title, "The Sopranos", meant that the show had something to do with singers. Other titles were considered but they finally decided to simply add a gun to the Sopranos logo.

- Nancy Marchand (Livia Soprano) appeared in episode #28, "Proshai, Livushka", even though she had passed away before HBO began filming the episode. They graphically pasted her face on to a body double and used her words from previous episodes for the speech track. These special effects cost $250,000 for a very brief scene!

- Tony Sirico (Paulie Gaultieri) would only agree to do the role if his character was guaranteed to never "rat out" the mob.

Quotes: Carmela Soprano

There's nothing more dangerous than a woman scorned.

- "Act like a good Catholic for fifteen f**king minutes. Is that so much to ask?"

- "You know about his job. He reports to a strip club. Who knows how he spends his days?"

- "What kind of animal smokes marijuana at his own confirmation?"

- "More is lost by indecision than wrong decision."

Quotes: Christopher Moltisanti

Tony's #1 soldier will follow his boss into hell.

- "You know, a simple way-to-go Chris on the Tri Borough Towers contract would've been nice."

- "F**k you Paulie. Captain or no Captain, right now we are just two a**holes lost in the woods."

- "This ain't negotiation time. This is Scarface, final scene, f**kin' bazookas under each arm."

- (Workman - I wanna talk to the foreman.) Chris - "You wanna talk to the foreskin?"

- "This is my good bye party with herion."

- (Clerk: you shot me in the foot) Chris - "It happens!"

- "I sent a muffin basket with the script. I tried everything."

Sopranos Actor's Official Sites

Frank Vincent
Actor, musician, comedian, writer, producer. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts of first generation Italian-Americans and raised in the Greenville section of Jersey City, New Jersey. Frank's father, an amateur actor introduced him to show business at an early age. Frank acted in school plays and studied music at St. Paul's grammar school. He played piano, trumpet and drums but soon his love for the drums took center stage.
Joseph R. Gannascoli
It's been a huge year for Sopranos star Joseph Gannascoli. His character, Vito Spatafore, is poised for a break-out year on the Sopranos, he's gotten married, lost 140 pounds, has a book coming out, and is working on shoring up interest in an idea that he has for a show combining two of his passions- sports and cooking.
James Gandolfini
Mr. Gandolfini prefers to let his work speak for itself: "I'm an actor... I do a job and I go home. Why are you interested in me? You don't ask a truck driver about his job." So with the privacy of the man at heart, we offer a guide through his stage, television and motion picture work, allowing fans and students a wider range of roles to choose from.
Dominic Chianese
"Who would think that Uncle Junior has the soul of a poet? He doesn't, for the most part, unless you consider cursing poetry. But Dominic Chianese does. He is a true artist, a man completely trusting of the heart.
Jamie Lynn Sigler
Jamie was born in Long Island, New York, the third child of Connie and Steve Sigler. She's not Italian, contrary to her on-screen image. In fact, she's Cuban, Jewish-American, and Greek.
Tony Sirico
Tony Sirico grew up in Brooklyn, New York and currently lives with his mother in Bensonhurst, New York. Tony is also not unfamiliar with the hard times and crime. In his younger days he was sent to jail on several occasions for holding up night clubs. During his stay in prison he became interested in acting after watching a theater group which came to perform. He also says that the film Public Enemy starring James Cagney had a big influence on him.
Federico Castelluccio
Federico portrayed Tony Soprano's hottest hit man "Furio Giunta" on the critically acclaimed HBO series, "The Sopranos." Captivating in his role as the no nonsense "Furio", Federico is equally captivating with paintbrush in hand. Experience his brilliance firsthand in our "Artwork" section.
Steve Van Zandt
You may know Steve from The Sopranos (he plays Silvio Dante) or as the longtime guitarist from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Now you can get to know him as the coolest DJ in the country, a proud throwback to the late-night hipster jocks of long-gone 1960s and '70s FM radio.

Pyeman73, your work on this lens gave me a number of ideas that helped me to make my first lens (about my father - Auschwitz survivor). Your lens is well balanced, uses as many modules as possible, information is well written, pics are nice, quotes and reviews are interesting. Definitely 5*!
