How would you like a new clean credit file?

What if I told you that you could have a new credit file? That you could have it within 24 hours legally. Would you be interested? Or does it sound too good to be true?

Well you would be right to think that it is too good to be true. But now there are many companies offering. What they are doing is creating a new address and a substituting an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for their Social Security Number (SSN) along with a new address. EIN's were obtained from the Internal Revenue Service on behalf of the consumer. With the EIN and a new address the companies would either have the consumer apply for credit with the "new information" or the company would apply for them. When the creditor would run the application it would automatically create a new credit file because the computer would be unable to find the consumer in the database due to the new address and SSN.

50 of these companies 8 years ago were taken down in "Operation New ID Bad Idea" by the Federal Trade Commission. They were actively seeking consumers with bad credit by spamming and sending out pamphlets. Now these ads have resurfaced again. If you decide to do this be sure to not miss a payment. Concealment of your bad credit could land you in court on a credit fraud charge.

You may be unaware of what your credit score is like 9/10 Amercians but you may be unaware that you are having to pay more for credit cards, mortgages and car loans than you need to. They don't have to tell you that they are giving you a raw deal due to bad credit. They used to have to do this by law until very recently!!!

I recommend you get your free credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com . It is the only source that the three credit bureaus will all allow you to get your credit report free. If you are going to be looking for a mortgage you don't want to be in the desperate situation that most Americans are finding themselves in due to these blood sucking ........ I won't say it but I am sure you agree with me...

Here is some news about those lovely people the credit counseling and debt consolidation companies who claim to be non-profit organisations;

"(NPR News, May 15, 2006). The Internal Revenue Service is revoking the tax exempt status of some of the largest credit counseling agencies in the country. An IRS investigation disclosed that the firms solicited business from people seriously in debt and that they didn't provide counseling
or consumer education, as required.

Prodded in part by a congressional oversight committee and consumer advocates, the IRS began investigating dozens of credit counseling agencies --
most holding non-profit status -- two years ago. IRS Commissioner Mark Everson says the companies "poisoned an entire sector of the charitable
community."

They operated under the guise of non-profit so they were able to contact who ever they liked to pitch for business. Its also a good sales ploy as when you here non-profit you feel you can trust them more. Look if they lie to you that that are not interested in making a profit from you then what else would they lie about! Stay clear of these companies!
