Protect and Display Your ID Cards With Badge Holders
Many businesses and organizations use plastic id cards to identify their employees or members. It is not practical to keep those id cards in your wallet though. When id cards are stored in a wallet they are difficult to access. Plus they can get scratched each time you take your id card out. This is where badge holders come in. A badge holder keeps your id highly visible and keeps the card protected.

In the past these badge holders were limited to one style: a plastic sleeve with a clip on it. Now there are hundreds of badge holder styles to choose from.
Clear Vinyl Badge Holders
This is the most basic form of badge holder. A clear vinyl badge holder provides minimalistic protection at a low price. They can be attached in various ways: lanyards, badge clips or badge pins. Color Coded Badge Holders
Color coded badge holders are a great way to classify employees or organization members. You could use a different color for each type or employee or member. Then at a glance you can tell a little bit about that person. Also color coded badge holders could be used to compliment the colors on your id cards. If your id cards are fairly plain, a color coded badge holder could brighten it up and draw more attention. Convention ID Holders
While you could technically use any type of badge holder at a convention, not every badge holder type would be practical. A convention id holder is fairly basic and inexpensive. Most convention id holders clip or pin directly to clothing. This keeps the cost down as lanyards or other attachments are not necessary. When you are purchasing hundreds or thousands of badge holders for a trade show or convention, price is a major factor. Rigid Plastic Badge Holders
Most badge holders are made of flexible vinyl material. While this keeps the cost down, it does not fully protect id cards. Your id card could still get bent or folded. A rigid plastic badge holder prevents this. The plastic is rigid enough that it wouldn't easily get bent. The drawback is that many of these rigid badge holders do not have a sleeve that protects the id card against scratching. Arm Band Badge Holders
In some circumstances it can be dangerous to clip your id card to your clothing or hang it from a neck lanyard. An unsecured badge holder could easily get caught in machinery or other hazards. For construction workers and others, an arm band badge holder is the solution. This type of badge holder keeps your id card firmly secured. It cannot flap around and get caught on anything. An arm band badge holder can be useful for anyone who needs to keep their id card out of the way, yet still highly visible. Proximity Card Holders
A proximity card is a digitally encoded card that can be scanned with radio waves. This type of id card needs to be protected more than your standard identification. So a proximity card holder actually locks a card in place when it is attached to a lanyard. The badge holder material is thin enough that the proximity card can still be electronically scanned. Magnetic Badge Holders
One of the most ingenius types of badge holders is the magnetic badge holder. Instead of attaching to clothing with a pin or clip, these badge holders use magnets to attach to a pocket or lapel. This keeps the badge holder secure and prevents damage to clothing. Soft Credential Wallets
A credential wallet is the most flexible type of badge holder. Soft credential wallets typically have multiple pockets to store more than just your id card. There is a spot to store your pens, important papers and more. Some even have room to display more than one id card. This is usually the most expensive type of badge holder. It is best suited for longer trade shows or conventions where you need easy access to pen and paper. Event Ticket Holders
Most badge holders are designed to fit an id card. Unfortunately event and concert tickets are much taller and narrower. These types of tickets or passes definitely need protection considering the environment in which they will be used. Event ticket holders keep your tickets protected and visible for security.
