Not to be confused with "Guilty Pleasure" movies, films for Bad Movie Night typically have no redeeming value. These misfits of the cinema are so awful that the audience should be compensated for their time to watch them - and quite possibly for pain and suffering.
Yet, like a train wreck, somone will stop and watch. How much better would that be with popcorn and a soda?
Read on to learn how to turn the worst that Hollywood, Bollywood or Ed Wood has to offer into a fun-filled evening that can quickly become a regular date on your social calendar.
Bad Movie Night Basics
The premise is fairly simple. Gather friends and loved ones together, whip up some treats then hunker down for some of the worst acting, plots, and production values ever imagined. As the host of the first Bad Movie Night, you'll be selecting that evening's feature. Choose poorly.Now, the idea is to not actually watch the movies. The idea is to critique and scoff at the movies ala MST3K.
Laughter isn't mandatory, but it's going to happen spontaneously. Yes, they all become comedies no matter what the intended genre. Pop corn throwing is both permissible and encouraged, so serve it without butter - trust me on this.
Invariably, your audience members will insist that they have seen worse and the competition for delivering the worst of the worst is on. The only thing left to do is plan the next Bad Movie Night.
