Looking For a Way to Stop Smoking

Start off by not hanging out with your smoking co-workers and friends. You will then be far ahead of the game. With me it pulled my trigger to have that cig and I was off smoking again. It is to much pain to quit smoking over and over again.

Best Way to Stop Smoking

Most smokers will eventually come to realize that continuing to smoke their life away just isn't worth their time and effort. After all, smoking is known to be atrocious for your health, bringing about such conditions as bad breath, stained yellow teeth and even lung cancer. And yet, it is not quite that easy to stop smoking. So what then is the best way to stop smoking?

Generally, when a heavy smoker decides to stop smoking, they may feel anxious or have cravings, experience depression or other symptoms. For these reasons, it may be too difficult to quit smoking. However, many people make it a priority to stop smoking and are proactive in finding the best way to stop smoking and trying any option that might work for them.

The best way to stop smoking is to change your thinking process. A large part of an addiction is mental; it's all about perspective. Once you realize, truly, deep down realize that you need and want to quit, then it is easier to quit. You can throw your cigarettes away and never look back, getting through your withdrawal symptoms with more ease because you know that you need to stop smoking. So just wake up and realize that you need to quit.

Remain focused and positive. If you assume that quitting smoking will be a difficult, time-consuming process, then it probably will be very difficult to quit. However, if you begin the process on a more positive note and envision that you will quit smoking in a short time with little or no side effects, then quitting will seem very easy.

Your perspective can really change your entire experience. Have you ever walked into a classroom before a test and told yourself you were going to fail? Many times, you did fail. On the other hand, when you walk in and tell yourself that you will do well, you have a much higher chance of doing well. The best way to stop smoking employs the same principles. This is the power of positive thinking! Do something that will make you happy and forget all about those cigarettes. If you make quitting smoking a positive experience, then it will be a positive experience. You don't need to sit around and think about the cigarettes endlessly, on and on throughout the day. Enjoy your time and do things you like to do while you recover from your addiction instead.

For those who need help recovering from the physical symptoms, such as headaches, anxiety, or other symptoms of craving, just hold down strong to your principles. You don't want to smoke anymore and you don't need to. This isn't so bad. Distract yourself instead with some other activity that requires your full attention.

If you make up your mind to do it, you can quit smoking right away. Take the first step and toss out your cigarettes and do not give in to any temptation to purchase new ones. You can quit smoking in a day if you truly put your mind to it. It's only as difficult as you make it and may even be fun, depending upon how you view it. Positive thinking is all you need to kick the cigarette habit. The best way to stop smoking can be to adopt an optimistic outlook and believe in your own abilities.
