Leaf Bagette- Crochet Pattern

designed by Akua Lezli Hope

Leaf BagetteFrom Akua Lezli Hope:
Leaves necklace this drawstring pouch. Large enough to carry today's essentials: cellphone, id, pen, makeup, toiletries, but small and light, it may be made smaller by felting. Unfelted, it measures 8.5" wide by 6.5" high. The straps were made 4 feet long so the bag may hang across the body. You may want them shorter, or explore other options for straps. Many color combinations will work. It has a texture band across the middle that could function as a color band accent as well as a textural one.

Not a Sandy Bottom- Knit Pattern

designed by Dorothy Dean

Not a Sandy Bottom BagFrom Dorothy Dean:
This makes a great beach bag, since the sand will fall out of it. Sand in the bottom of my bags is a problem here. :) With a few modifications, you can make this bag into a yoga mat bag, a water bottle bag, or a larger or smaller tote. It's incredibly stretchy, so don't worry if it looks small after it's knit up.

Mini Meeting Bag- Knit Pattern

designed by Marlene Sigel

Mini Meeting BagFrom Marlene Sigel:
CARRY ESSENTIALS IN THIS EASY, ONE-SKEIN MINI BAG

This little bag is knit in one piece using one skein of Noro Daria and embellished with a 1" button. As the name implies, I designed it to take with me to meetings when I didn't want to carry a large purse.

The entire piece is knit in Moss Stitch with a four-row repeat over an even number of stitches. Side seams are sewn using a whipstitch.

When closed, the bag measures approximately 5 1/2" in width by 4 3/4" in length. Finished dimensions can easily be adjusted, but a larger bag will require more than one skein of Daria. Bag as shown uses one full skein.

Although gauge isn't too critical in this design, the knitted fabric should be firm.

When I had finished my third pair of socks in the Twinkling Trellis pattern I couldn't stop knitting. So I went on and created this cute little cellphone cozy.

Summer Citrus Bag- Crochet and Knit Pattern

designed by Lindsey Stephens

Summer Citrus BagFrom Lindsey Stephens:
Spike stitches add bursts of color on this stylish and functional bag. The handles support easy carrying while the drawstring top keeps contents secure. Inspired by lemon and lime - two citrus fruits, each with their own flavor - the drawstring closure section is in knitted stockinette stitch, making the bag a mix of knit and crochet - two needlearts each with their own style and flavor. The handles are made using foundation single crochet stitches, with alternate directions for those who would prefer a traditional chain and separate single crochet rounds.

Wow. Beautiful indeed...I'm a crocheter among all things and I feel like knitting the Marina bag...probably?
  • HorseHelper Jan 13, 2011 @ 9:15 am | delete
You could do it. Crochet's much easier to learn than knitting. The Marina bag looks like a simple lace pattern which can also be much easier to do than knitted lace.

These bags are wonderful. I had one knitted bag that I actually worn out. I kept fixing it but finally had to say fair well to the thing. I should really get another one.
