Feng Shui Symbol Placement and BAGUA
Feng Shui Symbol Placements According to BAGUA and Your GUA Number
Now that you have figured your GUA [http://www.squidoo.com/fengshuiguanumber/] number and you are ready to enhance or activate certain areas according to Feng Shui, I have broken it down to a few enhancement suggestions according to your GUA number. A lot of people do not understand that displaying Feng Shui symbols will assist you in activating positive energies and ward off negative energies when used correctly. There are several, if not many, interpretations of Feng Shui. That is okay as long as you practice and follow one style of Feng Shui. In America, many consultants advise their practice of Bagua interpretation according to the location of the doorway of a particular room or the main door into your home. I practice by compass interpretation in placing the Bagua only because it is easier for me to understand directions and it seems to work for me better. It also seems to have more substance to the interpretation without a lot of "fluff".. You can still practice by compass one room at a time, or, the entire floor plan. Just make sure you decide whether you are interpreting as a floor plan or by single room.
A good friend of mine, Yvonne Phillips, responded recently to my question about utilizing the Bagua by American standards and how most Feng Shui consultants practice here in the US and I thought her response was appropriate to put into this blog…
"…Here is how you do it:
Walk into any room and stand in the doorway. Facing directly in front of you is North, not compass North, directional North. Then you set up your Feng Shui from that direction. You do not need to know all of the birthdates in order to do it. Check out my website at and go to the consultation page and you will see the layout I use all of the time.
Some easier books to work with are anything by Lin Yun-please read it first and make sure that it feels good and makes sense to you. He has written a lot of books and is one of the Masters. Another lady who takes a very no nonsense approach is Karen Carter, very easy to do your Feng Shui. Please email me if any of this is confusing to you. By the way, all of the schools of FS work, you just have to choose what makes you feel good!…"

Feng Shui for Basic Everyday Living
Consider this, when a client comes to your salon or office, they have many negative energies built up in their body. YOU release those energies! Where do those energies go once they have been released? In your Salon or Office of course! These negative energies will eventually wear you down if you don't start re-directing and eliminating them.
Many therapists or healers don't think about themselves and rejuvenating their own energies! Now is the time to think about energizing yourself, letting your business grow and fulfilling those dreams you started your business with. If you are feeling run down, burnt out, creativity blocked, then please consider enhancing the Feng Shui in your Salon or Office. You provide a wonderful service to others and many depend on this service so they can meet the next day head on. What do you do to meet the next day "head on"? Consider how you have practiced Feng Shui, change your symbol enhancement placements, re-new your energy. Let's get serious about growing your business and clearing the way for you to be the dynamo that you were when you started your business.
RETAILERS AND VINTAGE STORE OWNERS: I get many questions from Retailers and Vintage Store owners wanting to know how to clear the path for a successful business using Feng Shui. Especially Vintage Store owners are concerned about the negative energies left behind from the previous owners of the items they are selling. Start placing Feng Shui enhancements to activate positive energies and ridding negative energies will definitely help your business grow.
I can recommend that if you follow the GUA enhancements as I have described, utilize negative energy enhancers, design your shop more Feng Shui with meandering curvy aisles, highlight your Success and Personal Development areas, your business will improve.
GARDENERS: Now is the time for you to open up to your inner self! Women are more than likely making the decision how their patio and gardens are designed. Start acknowledging them and directing your questions and suggestions to them. If they want a meditation or yoga garden, offer suggestions they can relate to!!! You need to be more informed how their gardens can be used for meditation, Feng Shui, calming, spiritual and relaxing. Feng Shui principals can be applied to all of these.
People like to invite others to walk through their gardens, or to sit and relax for a spiritual and calming experience. Be there with your suggestions! Study oriental gardens, their layouts, highlights, etc.. Some people don't want an oriental garden, but, you can offer suggestions that will give the same fulfillment and they don't realize that they are using oriental concepts.

The BAGUA Mirror
Baguas and Protective Cannon - A good bagua mirror is in octagonal shape, usually framed in wood and measures about 4 to 6 inches across. It has the eight trigrams marked around the outside with a round mirror in the center. The bagua mirror is easy to use and inexpensive protection method for "shar chi" or poison arrows. The bagua mirror is used massively in "Form School of Feng Shui", which was the first and oldest feng shui school dating back to Song Dynasty (AD960-1279). Form School of Feng Shui which is the basis of all schools of feng shui overides other school of thoughts when certain shapes and formation in an environment is not in a desirable mode. Since most of us live in urban areas, the natural elements of landscape and formation are represented by buildings, roadways and other manmade structures.Bagua Mirrors for use in deflecting or absorbing evil from the outside of your house. Not to be used on the inside unless installed so it faces only outside. BaGua Mirrors protect your house from outside negative influences. Place OUTSIDE on your front door to protect your home. The center has a mirror which is surrounded by lines from the Chinese book - the I Ching.
