Bagua is an internal martial arts style from China, combining kung fu with the ancient philosophy of yin and yang, and the hexagrams of the kind you would find in the I Ching / Yi King. An internal, or soft martial art is one which is based primarily on the use of internal chi energy rather than just muscular strength. Like Tai Chi and Xing Yi Quan Bagua Zhang also has great health benefits and aspects of spiritual cultivation as well as just being a method of self-defense. The Bagua style is well known for its deft footwork developed through the practice of 'circle walking' where you move in a circle around an imaginary hexagram whilst switching between stances.
