Welcome
Hello everyone and thanks for visiting this lens.Basically what you will find here is links to and descriptions of sites Barbados related.I will separate this lens into three sections namely, culture/ the arts, current affairs/politics, and geography/history. I hope you find the lens entertaining and a joy to browse but failing that, perhaps you will find a link to a website that has those qualities. Ok so i think that this is quite ample introduction so i this this is the point where you scroll down and explore the lens that is "Barbadian Issues"
Geography/ History
Want to find the literacy and net migration rates? Mabye the amount of irrigated land or oil consumption? Or perhaps you just want the population? You can find it all at CIA WORLD FACTBOOK PAGE that eerie digital black book the has all the stats you could ever want on a country.Theres even a printable version so you can keep all of it right at your fingertips.Perhaps the CIA weren't obsessive enough for you.Perhaps the stats were entertaining but you craved something more substantial.Believe it or not the BARBADOS WIKIPEDIA PAGE provides you with a wealth of information.....more than casual interest would dictate you need to know really. The page is also crammed full of useful links which is very helpful.
Want the tourists guide to Barbados?Government run and not so chocked with trivia but focusing more on Vacation Planners and lists of wonderful tourist-y things to do?You can't beat VISIT BARBADOS the Ministry of Tourism's site.
Ok so my word limit is wandering dangerously close to its end so i'll have cut short my delightful descriptions and focus on some useful links.
(Like) TOTALLY BARBADOS-this is an award winning island guide website.

THE BAJAN REPORTER - Interesting Blog that highlights many Bajan cultural happenings.
Quite truthfully these links offer a rather meagre intoduction to Barbados vibrant culture, a unique synthesis you have to experience for yourself...so come visit! Also look out soon for a detailed Culture/Arts lens.
Current Affairs/ Politics
BARBADOS FREE PRESS - This blog seeks to keep the government and news media of Barbados honest. It can occasionally get a bit sensationalist itself but I would still highly recommend it as i raises some important issues and has a very active comments section
BARBADOS UNDERGROUND- This blog is similar to Barbados Free Press, but is better written and slightly more to the point.
NATION NEWS - This is the website of the bestselling Barbadian Newspaper.Nice for Weather and Local Headlines.
THE BARBADOS ADVOCATE- this is the website of the opposing, less popular newspaper...although i prefer the nation I like the setup of this website better
BARBADOS LABOUR PARTY - Blog of the Ruling Party
DEMOCRATIC LABOUR PARTY - Blog of the Opposition
