Ingredients for Baked Mac and Cheese

A multitude of cheese!

- approx. 3/4 box of elbow macaroni
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 2 or 3 tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1.5 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Mexican style)
- 3 Kraft singles
- a handful of freshly grated parmesan cheese (you can do packaged)
- breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper to taste

Steps to Cooking Mac and Cheese

-Preheat the oven to 375. Cook about 3/4 box of elbow macaroni, drain, and put aside.

-Coat a saucepan with the olive oil to heat..

-Add the butter and then the flour. The flour is crucial to thicken this cheese dressing.

-Add the milk, then stir in the shredded cheese, Kraft singles (break them up), and the Parmesan cheese. Stir for several minutes to get sauce thick and creamy.

-Add salt and pepper. Put the elbow macaroni in a baking dish, add the cheese sauce, and stir.

-Top with some breadcrumbs and bake for 25 minutes at 375. Adding tomato slices on top is optional.

Make it healthy!

Use low-fat cheeses and milk instead of regular. Replace regular pasta with wheat pasta and use a yogurt butter alternative instead of real butter.
