Baked to Perfection

As a kid one of my favorite days was Sunday because we had Baked Potatoes for dinner that day. My sister never ate the potato skins so I got to eat them. I'd drop a couple of butter pats into each half and sprinkle on the black pepper liberally. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm was that a quick ride to heaven or what.

Baked Potato Cooking Tip

Cooking a Baked Potato is as easy as throwing it in the microwave but for the best flavor I recommend baking it in the oven for 60 to 90 minutes at 190 degrees or higher.

A Baked Potato from the oven will have the perfect slightly crunchy skin and a fluffy filling inside. Of course there are many ways to cook it and I have added a number of videos further down on the page to highlight some of the different approaches. ENJOY

Hi Joseph: Baked Potatoes are mighty tasty. I just had two yesterday for lunch. I baked them at 400 degrees for one hour. I'm big on all kinds of potatoes prepared in every way imaginable. Roots, fruits, nuts, and greens: what else do you need? ~Music Resource~

Hello! In Italy we don't eat Baked Potatos with the skin. But I must say that when for the first time I tasted them in UK, I just fell in love with them, I love the skin as well! Really lovely lens and well deserved 5 stars!
