What Special Ingredients Do You Need To Maximize Baking Soda For Acne?
Just two ingredients
Yep, that's right, just two ingredients.1.) Water
2.) Baking Soda
You don't need filtered water, spring water or anything special. Well, to be fair some people argue that you should use Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner, but I'll get to that in a minute.
All you need to do mix some Baking Soda and water into a paste. You don't want it super thick, nor do you want it to runny. The reason behind this is the baking soda acts as a light (very light) exfoliator that clears away dead skin, unclogs pores, and deep cleans them. When you do make the paste, opt for more thick over runny as it will exfoliate better. You want the consistency to be so that the paste sticks to your face when you apply it, but it isn't clumpy. Don't stress over this to much as it will work pretty well no matter what.
How To Apply Your Baking Soda For Acne Mask
This is even easier than the ingredients
All you do is lightly, lightly, rub the paste onto your face. Let it sit for a few minutes at least to really allow the baking soda to clean, clear, and dry all the gunk in your pores up. Be forewarned that the first few times, it may sting a little bit. Also be sure you use Baking Soda not Baking Powder. I made the mistake once and that burned like heck!Anyways, after you have let it sit for a few minutes, rinse off all of the mask. Rinse pretty thoroughly here as you want to get all of it off.
Now I mentioned before about using Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner. I personally buy into this idea as the skin has to maintain a certain pH balance and baking soda is a strong base. So after you've cleansed all the baking soda off, you might want to take a 70% water/30% ACV toner and splash it on your face. You can just let that dry or you can rinse it off after a few minutes if you don't like the smell.
Be Sure To Moisturize After Using Your Baking Soda For Acne Mask
It can get a little dry
This mask tends to dry at your face, more so at the beginning and then it tapers off after using it for a while. So like I said, moisturize. Even if you tend to have oily skin, you'll want to lightly moisturize just in case. Also, if this is agreeable with your skin, try not to overdo it in the first month. Keep it to a maximum of 3 times a week until you notice your skin has adapted to it. Don't worry if you do go overboard, your skin will just be a little more dry than normal. So total cost for this method? About $6! Crazy, isn't it?
