The Forgotten Art of Balance
Living your life with balance is arguably the most important aspect of living a happy and healthy life.
Many of us do a horrible job of keeping our lives balanced, myself included.
We work all the time, we don't take time off for rest, play, or family. One of these days we'll wake up to realize that we burned through most of our lives without ever taking the time to enjoy it.
When I speak of living our lives with balance I am not referring to our work schedules alone. Balance plays a part in all realms of our lives, including our diets. Many of us have atrocious eating habits, and it shows. The pharmaceutical companies are booming because instead of adjusting our bad diets we all just want to take a pill to pick up the slack.
If your life is out of balance read this article and commit yourself, as I did, to getting back on two feet.

Living Your Life With Balance
So many people die tired and overstressed because they live their lives forgetting to come up for air. In truth, if you work too hard and too much your productivity will suffer dramatically. You will become too tired, stressed, and burnt out to work effectively.
If you can't remember the last time you had a day off then it's time to turn the computer off, leave the phone at home and go breathe some fresh air. Work isn't going anywhere, it will be there waiting for you when you get back.

The opposite is true for you lazy types, you need to work, you need to be productive. Just like your muscles, if you do not use your brain it will become weak and inefficient.
If you suffer from inactivity go do something stimulating, something that will challenge you. You need to undertake a task that will give you a feeling of accomplishment when you achieve it, something that will renew your drive and self esteem. You will feel much better about yourself and others will think better of you.

Part of balancing your life is balancing your diet. Treat yourself to that milkshake once a week, have a cookie every so often, but use moderation. Too many of us just settle the, "What's for dinner?" issue by swinging through the drive-through and I think we all see the negative effects that is having on our society.
Obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes have become epidemics. This is because we do not exercise balance in our diets. Eat nutritious foods, exercise, get out and breathe some fresh air, and if you feel that you have earned it treat yourself to some junk food...once in a while!

We are an overworked, overstressed, and malnourished nation as a whole. These problems can all be directly linked to a lack of balance in our lives. Balance your diet, balance your work load, and remember to take time off for yourself.
Spend some time with your family, turn your phone off, and go see something that isn't being projected onto a screen. Go outside and get some exercise, if you live in an urban environment take the day off and go breathe some fresh country air.
For dinner go to the store, get yourself some fresh vegetables and make yourself a healthy, homemade meal. Read something that that inspires you, get to bed early and wake up early. All these things will lead to a happier, healthier, and more balanced life.

- What goes around comes around...with all the technology available it has changed the world, in good ways and bad ways...and those are choices. Simplicity and balance of life is truly gone the way it was days of past, this includes health and happiness...I'm so happy I was a child during the good old days, even though I experienced the end of war...maybe this is what made us appreciate what we had and enjoy every day that was given to us....seems like we always had a balance.
