Baldness involves the state of lacking hair where it often grows, especially on the head. The most common form of baldness is a progressive hair thinning condition called androgenic alopecia or "male pattern baldness" that occurs in adult male humans and other species. The amount and patterns of baldness can vary greatly; it ranges from male and female pattern alopecia (androgenic alopecia, also called androgenetic alopecia or alopecia androgenetica), alopecia areata, which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head, and alopecia totalis, which involves the loss of all head hair, to the most extreme form, alopecia universalis, which involves the loss of all hair from the head and the body.

Hair color is the pigmentation of hair follicles due to the two types of melanin, eumelanin and phaeomelanin. Generally, if more melanin is present in the hair, the color of the hair is darker; if less melanin is present, the hair color is lighter. Bald or Gray? Here's MY Problem.
Bear with me here, OK?
So it was, as a very young man, I wouldcringe at the term 'male pattern baldness' because that was EXACTLY my story.
I was a male, and I had this pattern of seeing my baldness collecting in the shower drain!
(So I married young, just in case.)
But being the consummate optimist I took great consolation in the fact that when I finally went bald at least I wouldn't go gray!
No, no not me. All those other guys will have to use those toxic hair color treatments (that I still remember how one almost killed me once. But that is for another page, isn't it?)
Finally I come to to my problem.
Nobody told me you could go Bald AND Gray at the same time!
What a cruel joke God played on me for being so smug about gray haired people. He made sure that just a little hair stayed stuck on the sides long enough to turn gray.
(I guess I just can't win)
