Use an Eco-friendly alternative to wasteful bottled water with the Bamboo Bottle.

If you enjoy having water handy throughout your day, but don't like the cost and waste of bottled water than the Bamboo Bottle may be your solution. It is completely safe to drink from this bottle at ice cold temperatures to boiling hot. It doesn't leach dangerous chemicals or bad tastes into your water, either. And did I mention that it looks cool.

Update: They are now shipping, so you can order yours today!

How does it work, you ask?

This is information directly from the bottle's manufacturer.

The Bamboo Bottle is made from three different materials.
  • The inner bottle is made from glass that is comprised of 51% recycled glass. Glass is made from three ingredients; silica is the primary component and sodium and limestone are both added to the mixture. Once glass has become hard it will not leach chemicals into the water, nor impart any taste into your drink at all.
  • Solving the issue of breakage, we move into the next component in this innovative design. The outer bamboo cylinder provides both protection for the glass inner bottle, and insulation from the hot or cold beverage contained within.
  • Lastly the final components are the cap, the nut and the bottom, which are made from 100% recyclable BPA free food-grade plastic.

Note on Weight

While some criticize this bottle on the basis of it's weight, I find that it is ideal for most activities other than backpacking and running. My five year old has no troubles carrying or drinking from the Bamboo Bottle. While it weighs more than plastic or aluminium, it is the glass that I like!

Glass bottles are the best way to go for your health and the health of the planet. Unfortunately, though, glass is breakable. This is the solution! The Bamboo bottle enclosure protects the glass from breaking if it gets bumped around, not to mention it looks totally cool!

Exciting! My sweetheart carries glass bottles that come in a silicon sleeve. Unfortunately, those tend to get a little smelly and are very difficult to take off and put back on, so also difficult to keep clean. I'm curious whether there are any condensation issues that might interact with the bamboo sleeve. Have you found it to be easy to remove and clean routinely? I'd love to know the answer, as this bottle may be the solution to our glass bottle problem.

I find that it depends a lot on how you use it. I add my ice and cold water to the bottle, but hubby likes to keep his bottles in the freezer. This means I find this bottle to be great, and have had no problems taking it apart to clean, etc. My hubby on the other hand, is better off using his nalgene, since the bamboo just isn't made for his type of use. I hope this helps you make your decision. Thanks for stopping by!

I like your sticky note under the guest book and agree that the little bit of extra weight is worth it to have the glass and I sure like the idea of using bamboo since it is such an easily renewable resource.
