FINE BAMBOO FURNITURE - An Eco-Friendly Style
Advocates of bamboo and hemp appreciate that these plants have been used for thousands of years in many parts of the world for a variety of uses, and recognize they can greatly reduce our need for fossil fuels and coal. Bamboo and hemp sequester more carbon and release more oxygen than most plants on earth. In contrast, cutting down more trees for the wood and paper products does not create sustainability, and it reduces the amount of oxygen available for all the earth's inhabitants.
Environmentally sustainable - Bamboo is one of the earth's fastest growing plants and it is actually a grass that grows to maturity in 5 years or less. Bamboo is environmentally friendly and a rapidly growing renewable resource. There are more than 1200 bamboo species over the world. Moso bamboo ( Phyllostachys pubescens) is mostly used for solid material products. It is the best species for bamboo furniture products due to its hardness, durability, and stability. Mature Moso bamboo that is at least 5 years old will ensure the strongest hardness and stability.
Bamboo is the one of the best plants on the earth to sequester carbon. It releases about 35 percent more oxygen than comparable hardwood trees. By sequestering carbon, bamboo reduces the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, which is the main contributor to reducing global warming.
Living green is not hard to do, and just by taking small steps we can make a big difference. Buying products made from bamboo, such as furniture and bedding, is an important step in making a difference, just like recycling everything you can, using bio-green chemical free cleaning products, and switching to compact florescent light bulbs. Living with a green mind leads to a healthy earth for all of us, and will ensure that our children and all future children will have a healthier planet...
Modern Fine Bamboo Furniture Is Eco-Friendly
Save Our Earth
To create a smooth solid look of fine furniture the bamboo cane is cut into small narrow strips and then put through a process of grinding the knots down, then the strips are put through a boiling tank to eliminate any insects and prep the bamboo strips for carbonization. This process includes steam and high pressure infusion of the bamboo which changes the color, like when you heat sugar on the stove it turns darker. The more heat and steam that is injected the darker the color, creating hues from caramel to espresso. A natural color can be achieved by not going through the carbonization process.
Next the strips are kiln dried and then finely planed and bonded together to produce large planks and boards. The strips are glued together and depending on which face is used, the result is either bamboo plywood or vertical grain planks. Then the planks are put through another hydraulic heat press to produce a bond that is stronger than wood. The end results is a beautiful plank of bamboo that can be cut and designed to create a modern stylish fine bamboo furniture.
There are many varieties of bamboo that are used for making durable products. The one most used for its durability is Moso bamboo. The hardness of this type of bamboo is what is amazing about this furniture. Even though bamboo is a grass and not a tree it is actually harder and more durable than oak, and even though it cost a little more it is still comparable with furniture made from other hardwoods like maple, and cherry.
One of the main reasons why people are attracted to this furniture is that it's eco friendly and totally sustainable. Bamboo is faster growing then hardwood trees and can be harvested over and over every 5 - 7 years from the same plant. Once you cut a tree it is gone forever. Bamboo is generally grown organically, without pesticides or fertilizers. And the bamboo plant sequesters more carbon than any other plant on earth, which helps to reduce global warming. Invest in the new modern fine bamboo furniture and enjoy it with good conscience for years to come.

Learn about the sustainable nature of bamboo.
This substance is combined with bamboo cellulose during the process of being manufactured into rayon from bamboo fiber resulting in a naturally antibacterial fabric. This antibacterial property means fabrics stay fresh and keeps away odor causing bacteria. It is proven that wash after wash, bamboo fiber fabric still possesses excellent function of antibacteria. Bamboo fiber's natural anti-bacteria does not cause skin allergy as can sometimes happen with chemical antimicrobial.
Another benefit of bamboo fiber is its unusual ability to breathe and ventilate. A cross-section of the bamboo fiber will show that it is filled with various micro-gaps and micro-holes, giving excellent moisture absorption and ventilation. With this unparalleled micro-structure, bamboo fiber fabrics can absorb and evaporate moisture in a split second, making people feel extremely cool and comfortable in the hot summer.
Bamboo fabrics are made from pure bamboo fiber yarn which have excellent wet permeability, moisture vapor transmission property, superior strength and durability over time, soft and comfortable hand, better drape, easy dying, and splendid colors. It is a newly founded, great prospective green fabric. Bamboo fiber is praised as " the natural, green and eco-friendly new-type textile material of 21st century.

Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamp the Organic Ionizer
Reduce Stress and Create Well Being
The Organic De-ionizerToo many positive ions in your space? Too much tension? A Himalayan Salt Lamp is the remedy. Negative ions are particles in the air that remove airborne contaminates from the air we breathe, and have a rejuvenating effect when interacting with physiological systems, such as the respiratory system.
Himalayan Salt Crystal Lamps when heated emit a negative ion, which are beneficial to our health.
Positive ions are emitted by all of the electric light and appliances we have in our homes and our work places.
The heated salt emits a negative ion that balances the positive ion and improves the air quality in your space. By balancing the ions it reduces the level of the EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) and takes the tension out of the air to create a more tranquil, peaceful space.

- Bamboo grows and reproduces rapidly even in cold climates like Pennsylvania. Some folks even consider it invasive because it spreads so easily. I can understand why it's a preferred sustainable plant source for furniture and fibers. It's hardy and prolific.
