I love bananas and bread so it's a great combination. Would you be happy for me to add this as a lens to my gluten free site, I think lots of people who visit would love this recipe? Thank you

My sister sends me banana bread all the time and I sure do enjoy it. She plays around with recipes and substitutes coconut rum for her milk, oh my! Sometimes she makes them into little muffins that I also enjoy. She just let me know that this last one has cashews and she went overboard on them, am waiting to sample that.

Wow... delicious lens! I've thumbs-upped, liked, favorited, and lensrolled this lens to my lens on bananas. Now you have me drooling over that bunch of bananas on our counter... and my wife and I will have to make some banana bread (and other banana goodies). Yum!
  • Kylyssa Sep 10, 2010 @ 4:22 pm | delete
I wish I'd found this lens a few days ago. I made banana bread based on a recipe I found on allrecipes but it wasn't the best. From looking at the recipes here, I think it had too many eggs in it.
  • whitemoss Jul 1, 2010 @ 7:06 am | delete
I love banana bread! I've added this to my new Rocketmoms bread recipe lens- hope that is OK with you.

I love banana bread. Did you ever try the one where you add dates yet? It sounds good to me since I like date bread as well. Yummy lens.

Great lens on Banana Bread. Great pics and recipes. Five stars. You reminded me of the bananas in my freezer. I like to mix it up and add Rum or some other extract. Visiting my fans lens today.

Great lens, Kat! Cute aprons, too! I love aprons!

Yum! Banana bread is one of my favorite breads. Overripe bananas are definitely a key ingredient.
  • kiwisoutback Apr 17, 2009 @ 4:58 pm | delete
I love banana bread, it's been a while since I've had it. Smells great when it's cooking... except don't eat it right before bed, it gives you nightmares! (anything bananas actually). Great work!
  • Rewards4life Apr 14, 2009 @ 6:06 am | delete
I've never tried banana bread, but I think it tastes wonderful! Looks delicious as well!

Ohhh, my. Another tasty lens to roll to my Laftovers lens. Those recipes sound tasty and those accompanying photos make me feel like Pavlov's dog. :) 5-stars and another favorite!
  • lokipro Mar 11, 2009 @ 2:11 pm | delete
I absolutely LOVE banana bread... I've been tweaking the standard Betty Crocker recipe for awhile. I currently make it with whole wheat, substitute soy with milk, and milled flax seeds for eggs... yeah, I know... sounds gross, but my coworkers have yet to figure out I've replaced these ingredients! :D Mwahahahahaha!
  • awelldressedbullet Mar 9, 2009 @ 5:33 pm | delete
Oh yum, we love banana bread, I've used the same recipe for years, but may try yours just to be different :-) - Kathy
  • stargazer00 Mar 9, 2009 @ 2:30 pm | delete
I like my banana bread to sit for a while so the flavors can blend. Then I eat it with butter. Never lasts too long around here. Welcome to the Hungry Squidz Choice Group. Please stop by the group and grab the blue ribbon for your lens!

I love banana bread. I make it quite often - a great way to use bananas past their prime!

Banana bread has always been one of my favorites. So easy to take along a slice or two for breakfast on the run or those mid-morning munchies. I make mine with whole wheat flour and reduce the sweeteners a bit. Gives it a nuttier texture and not quite so sweet. I look forward to trying a few of your recipes.
  • PleasantValley Jan 15, 2009 @ 1:48 pm | delete
    Looks tasty!
  • julcal Jan 15, 2009 @ 1:05 pm | delete
I actually read this lens, made the bread and came back to it before rating so i could tell you just how good that first recipe is. I love to cook and I try all kinds of recipes. That is a winner!

I'll be digging around for more of your recipes and I'll be sharing some of mine!

The recipe with the yoghurt is my favorite. Its very moist. But banana bread is the world's most practical food also. I mean, bananas go rotten faster than any other food, but then there is this wonderful thing you can do with them! *****
  • hermitqueen Jan 10, 2009 @ 11:54 am | delete
I like this lens a lot - probably because I like banana bread a lot! Your favorite recipe looks a lot like mine, but I've never used cinnamon or vanilla extract in mine - I'm going to try it! thanks!
  • RecessionSurvivalGuide Jan 10, 2009 @ 4:19 am | delete
This lens reminded me how much I like banana bread. I think your recipes look better than the one I've used in the past so I'm going to try one of them. I like the idea of using dates although they can be expensive.
  • ElizabethJeanAllen Jan 2, 2009 @ 3:42 pm | delete
I love banana bread almost as much as I love zucchini bread.
    Great lens,

What a fantastic idea to put ripened bananas in the freezer! I'll never have to throw out another banana again. Brilliant! Thanks for the great recipes and ideas, and that for joining the 'Bread' group - welcome!

Ohhh, banana bread... I love this stuff. It's been too long since I've had banana bread. A guy at work sometimes brings some in for everyone. You can always tell because of the line-up at his desk!

i love bannana bread but i have never tried it warm freaqsh out of the oven. I will have to give that a try.

My young son LOVES banana bread. Especially when I add chocolate chips to the recipe. Makes for a great after school snack. Thanks for a wonderful lense!
  • Treasures-By-Brenda Nov 19, 2008 @ 11:06 am | delete
I followed the link from Cabaret Squidoo and found a great lens on a delicious topic although I must say that I prefer my banana bread old -- a day or so makes it ripen nicely! (It never occurred to me to try it warm!) By the way, I freeze my bananas without the skin. I just find it easier that way.

I prefer the recipe with yogurt or sourcream. That's how I make it. :-)
I put overripe bananas in the freezer too! It's great when you want to make banana bread but don't want to wait a few days for storebought bananas to ripen.
