Banana taller than man

Have you ever seen such a long bunch of banana that can anytime be taller than an average man? It can grow as long as 1.8m (~ 6 feet)

It is called "Pisang Seribu" in Malay, it literary means "Thousand Banana". As I've searched the web resources, understand that it is also called the "Thousand Fingers". I believe it is due to such a large number of bananas that it produces in a single bunch that it is given the name.

Another interesting fact about this banana is that it will continue to grow until it touches the ground. Thus it is also called "Tongkat Bumi", where "Tongkat" means "walking stick" and "Bumi" means "earth or ground", which in full means "walking stick that touches the ground".

The fruit of this banana is smaller than the normal bananas, nevertheless, it still tastes as sweet.

Morning Banana Diet

You can hardly get any bananas in large departmental stores in Japan nowaday. Morning Banana Diet is now one of the hottest method for loosing weight in Japan

What is Morning Banana Diet?
The Morning Banana Diet regime is simple: A banana (or as many as you want) and room temperature water for breakfast; eat anything you like for lunch and dinner (by 8 p.m.). A three o'clock snack is okay, but no desserts after meals, and you have to go to bed before midnight.

Who invented it?
Sumiko Watanabe, a pharmacist in Osaka designed this stress-free diet to help increase the metabolism of her husband Hitoshi Watanabe, who had been rather overweight. In due course, Mr. Watanabe lost 37 pounds

How it becomes so popular?
Morning Banana Diet books published since March have sold over 730,000 copies, and some have been translated and published in South Korea and Taiwan. The diet became even more popular after a TV program featured a singer who had lost 15 pounds in just six weeks.
