How do you play Bananagrams?

The Banagrams word game is very easy to learn

Bananagrams is a word game that tests your spelling, vocabulary skills and quick thinking. It is a game with very simple rules. Anyone can get started playing it within minutes of opening the unique banana-shaped pouch containing 144 letter tiles.

Start by arranging all tiles face down on. This is called the "bunch." Players then take an equal number of tiles from the bunch. The number of tiles depends on how many players are playing.

Bananagrams game play begins when someone says "Split." That's when everyone turns their tiles face up and simultaneously starts creating words. Words must connect to each other so that you form a grid that looks like a crossword. You can rearrange words anytime, as you pick more tiles from the bunch.

When a player uses up all of his original tiles, he yells "Peel!" and everyone picks another tile from the bunch.

The game continues until there are more players than there are tiles in the bunch. At this point, when you use up all your tiles, say "Bananas!" and game play ends. Remember to check for any misspelled words, or else you will become a "Rotten Banana" and be disqualified from the round.

So, are you ready to play Bananagrams? Let's get started!

Bananagrams or Scrabble Apple: Which is the Fruity Word Game for You?

scrabble appleBananagrams and Scrabble Apple are both anagram games for 2 or more players. Which is the better fruity game?

Both games start with all tiles face down. In Scrabble Apple, players turn tiles face up and try to be the first to form a word out of the revealed letters. Whoever forms a word takes it from the pile and places it in front of them. Players can steal from opponents by rearranging the letters from their formed words, or combining them with letters from the pile to make a new word. Just like Scrabble, tiles are assigned a certain number of points, and some are worth a double-word score. When all tiles are revealed and no one can make any new words, the points are tallied and the player with the highest score wins.

In Bananagrams , players take an equal number of tiles from the pile and simultaneously create their own words until the tiles in the pool are exhausted. They arrange their words so that they are connected like a crossword. The first player to use up all the tiles in the pile wins.

I think that the rules for the latter are simpler. Unlike Scrabble Apple, where you have to add up scores, Bananagrams doesn't even require pen and paper. That is a great thing for someone like me, who's terrible in math!

For me, Bananagrams wins!
