Banbury Psychotherapy Centre

The Paloma Centre, a UKCP regulated practice, here in Banbury is a personal growth and therapy centre which provides an holistic approach to emotional healing and personal development. We use aspects of psychodynamic, behavioural and person-centred therapies aligned with hypnotic, EFT, CBT and NLP techniques where appropriate. Keeping abreast of developments in therapy we have recently added a range of Energy Therapies to the Practice.

To find out more or learn about our work with Alzheimer's do call David on 01295 277686 or visit our website at www.thepalomacentre.com for more information. Within the business community there are of course many applications for leadership and management development and these can be found in more detail on our business colleagues website at www.3cccs.com

Psychotherapy, unlike Counselling, usually entails an analytical approach to client issues usually associated with seeking out underlying past, root-causes to problems. These may be historical family or social circumstances that, not dealt with at the time, unconsciously still disturb us or affect our attitudes towards life. It may also deal with issues of past abuse, either physical, verbal or sexual or simply explore what originally gave rise to present negative attitudes and outlooks in order to produce positive change. Commonly used for issues such as anger management or deep-rooted insecurity this approach usually requires a more extended schedule of meetings.

The Paloma Centre is a UKCP regulated practice and our Guidelines may be found by following the link.

Psychotherapy at The Paloma Centre in Banbury

Psychotherapy in Banbury - What is it?

There are many different versions of psychotherapy and each focus's on slightly different aspects of the human existence and the causes of personal problems. Some such as the "psychodynamic" relate more to early experiences in life and the way that they affect the individual in life today and rely upon close relationships between the client and the therapist.
Others are more focused on our behaviour and the way that we perceive the world around us and seek to correct these perceptions into a more positive understanding. Yet others concentrate on the individual and the way they are today without overly concerning themselves with past causes, simply concentrating on how we can correct the problem in today's world.
It is not practical to detail them all although your therapist will be pleased to discuss them with you in more detail should you so wish.
The holistic approach of The Paloma Centre takes elements from several different philosophies including psychodynamic, behavioural and person centred therapies and blends them with techniques taken from Meridian Energy Therapies, NLP and Hypnosis where appropriate.

David Dove is not only highly qualified and committed to continuous, professional development, he is also an incredibly safe pair of hands. I have recommended him to people needing to move their lives on where long-term issues need resolving - his abilty to work in-tune with his clients and help them is marvellous. They are able to keep moving on with the responsibilities of each day, while working to move past their issues and to a brighter, healthier and happier life.
