Insane Clown Posse is an American rap duo consisting of Violent J (Joseph Bruce) and Shaggy 2 Dope (Joseph Utsler). The group was originally part of a larger group known as Inner City Posse, who broke up in 1992.

The bands first name was His Infernal Majesty,chosen as a joke. But when they became more popular, they decided to change their name because Finnish people had a hard time pronouncing the name and the band was being associated to cults.

Their second major US release, Razorblade Romance, was released under the name HER because a New York based post-rock band named HiM held the trademark on the name. While they toured Europe, primarily Germany, at this time, they used the name HIM and HER. HIM eventually bought the rights to the name "HIM" in the United States and used it worldwide from there on.

Look for Green Day in the upcoming animated movie The Simpsons Movie. Also, they are set to release a version of the Simpsons theme as a single on July 24 as part of the soundtrack.
