Guest Friendly Budget Hotels in Bangkok

Okay, so the world's economy is going through tough times right now. But those of us who still want to travel to Bangkok still want to go right? Of course we do. The great thing about traveling to Bangkok is that everything is still affordable, especially guest friendly hotels.

Bangkok still offers the best bang for the buck (no pun intended) in terms of hotel accommodations and other everyday expenses. And if you want to stay in a nice guest friendly hotel in Bangkok yet still save money, that's no problem at all.

Below is a list of very popular guest friendly hotels located throughout the red light districts of Bangkok. All of these hotels are very friendly to your bank account as well. So use whatever money you save and go get yourself a nice massage.

Note: Hotels listed here are current as of 3rd of November 2009. It's always wise to book a hotel room for 2 guests, a technicality some hotels may require. Besides it normally doesn't cost extra. Put down any name for 2nd guest it doesn't matter. If you need confirmation that a hotel has a girl friendly policy, email me at jimhunt@seemorebangkok.com, and I'll send you the confirmation that was sent to me directly from the hotel. I only have confirmations from the hotels listed on this website.

With that said, most men who travel to Bangkok for a holiday do plan on bringing back a companion to stay the night in their rooms. But what most first time travelers find out too late is that most hotels in Bangkok require you to pay a joiner fee for taking whoever back to your room. Joiner fees typically range from 500THB up to 1500THB. So it can really add up if you're planning on bringing someone to your room every night.

Good news is that there are hotels that do not charge joiner fees. These hotels are called "Guest Friendly". Guest friendly hotels range from 5 star ultra posh hotels to lowly guest houses with no frills.

In this lens were going to focus on budget guest friendly hotels with rates from 1050THB to 1780THB. If you don't think those rates are budget... well sorry. There's a certain comfort level I can't live without, but believe me these hotels are worth it. And these are good hotels too, not just popular with me but many others who have years of travel experience in Bangkok.

You Have to Watch This!

I promise you'll laugh!

This video will give you some an idea what you'll be experiencing when you visit a massage parlor in Bangkok especially along Ratchada. Don't get too excited not all of the girls are as hot as the ones in the movie.

One important note, you pay after you choose and you're more than welcome to chat with your lady of choice. If you change your mind at least buy her a drink. If you like her then you make the payment at the front desk and she'll take you up to a private room with a huge bath tub and bed.

It's best to visit some time around 9pm and if you don't see what you like you're free to leave. Many of the Papasans and Mamasans speak passable English but it's always good to learn a bit of Thai. It really helps that you do.

Guest Friendly Budget Hotels in Ratchadapisek (Ratchada)

And a Map of Popular Soapy Massage Parlors in Ratchadapishek Road (Ratchada)

Caesars Entertainment | Subway Massage | Nataree Entertainment Massage |
Emmanuelle | Hi-Class

The Palazzo Bangkok and Hip Hotel are super close to Bangkok's most long standing massage parlors. This area is a bit far off from the city center of Bangkok, but don't worry, just take the train at Huai Kwang MRT station and it'll get you to Sukhumvit and Patong red light districts fast. Just keep in mind trains operate from 6am to 12am everyday. Check out Huai Kwang road for tons of restaurant options.

Note: If you like a particular massage girl you can ask her to spend time with you outside of where she works. But you have to pay a bar fine which is around 3000THB - 4000THB to the massage parlor. On top of that you should still pay the girl a negotiable daily rate.

Palazzo Bangkok Hotel | 1250 THB - 111 Soi Niam-Utit, Ratchadapisek Road
The Palazzo Bangkok caters to a lot of tour groups mostly from Asia. So this hotel does get filled up pretty quickly. They're isn't really much in terms of facilities for guests to use but with such low rates it's understandable. However this hotel is really clean and the rooms are very well maintained.

Hip Hotel | 1550 THB - 111 Soi Niam-Utit, Ratchadapisek Road
The Hip Hotel recently opened in 2008. It was originally built as a massage parlor just like the ones on Ratchada road. But the idea fell through and the building was converted into a hotel instead. It's really a nice hotel though the furniture and decoration seems so out of place for a hotel in Bangkok.

If you don't mind spending a little bit extra then you may consider staying at The Emerald Hotel which cost around 2250 THB. It's just right across the street from the Palazzo Bangkok and Hip Hotel.

There's one more very well known massage parlor called Poseidon. It's about a good 5-10 minute walk north from the Huai Kwang MRT station on the right hand side. The closest guest friendly hotel to Poseidon is the Veronica Hotel. It cost about 1650 THB per night there. It's a very quiet area though, but you can catch the train at Sutthisan MRT station.

Guest Friendly Budget Hotels in Sukhumvit

Nana Entertainment Plaza | Nana Hotel Parking Lot | Bamboo Beer Bar
Spice Club | Bed Supper Club | Soi Cowboy

Here is a list of popular guest friendly hotels in the area. If you're planning to stay in the Patpong area than check out Patpong Red Light District for a list of guest friendly hotels there.

Note: Bar fines for go go bars in Nana Entertainment Plaza and Soi Cowboy range from 400THB to 600THB depending on who you take out. Because in some bars you could take out a hot waitress and even a mamasan.

Here's a Tip: It's best to choose at least 3 GF hotels just in case your first choice has no rooms available. Because guest friendly hotels below are affordable and offer great rooms and services so most are booked full frequently.

Nana Hotel
Room Rate: 1450 THB - Sukhumvit Road Soi 4
Nana hotel has been one of the longest standing girl friendly hotel in Bangkok. It is in one of the best locations, just right across the street from Nana Entertainment Plaza. Angel's Nana Disco was a club in the lobby of the Nana hotel but it closed in July 09. But no worries as there are many freelance ladies right on the hotel's parking lot.

Majestic Suites
Room Rate: 1400 THB - 110-110/1 Sukhumvit Road (between Soi 4-6)
The always well maintained Majestic Suites is a very popular guest friendly hotel because of it's value. You have access to the small pool and fitness center at its more expensive sister property
Majestic Grande on Soi 2, just a 5 minute walk away.

Dawin Bangkok
Room Rate 1990 THB - 35/1-2 Soi Sukhumvit Road Soi 4
The newest hotel in the area, the Dawin Bangkok's rates are budget now, but believe me in a year or so the rates will shoot up. Very nice hotel choice.

Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort
Room Rate 1200 THB - 128/9 Sukhumvit Soi 4
If you want to stay in a quiet guest friendly hotel yet still be close to Nana Entertainment Plaza then this hotel is a good choice for you. Check out the nice pool while you're there.

Citadines Bangkok Sukhumvit 8
Room Rate 1950 THB - 77 Sukhumvit Road Soi 8.
Another popular Citadines property closes to Nana Entertainment Plaza and Nana Hotel parking lot. I've noticed rooms here are quite popular with long stay tourist in Bangkok.

Swiss Park Hotel
Room Rate 1200 THB - 155/23 Sukhumvit Road Soi 11
This hotel has been a long time favorite. Check out some of the Indian restaurants nearby, really delicious though kind of pricey.

Citadines Sukhumvit Soi 11
Room Rate 1999 THB - 22/22 Sukhumvit Road Soi 11
These serviced apartments are a real great value and just recently all of them have discounted their room rates already.

City Lodge 19
Room Rate 1599 THB - Sukumvit Road Soi 19
Currently City Lodge 19 in Bangkok is being run by the Amari Group, a very well known hotel chain in Asia. Good thing too since Amari is synonymous with quality and service. A very good choice for a hotel stay in my opinion.

Citadines Bangkok Sukhumvit 16
Room Rate 1970 THB - 38 Sukhumvit Road Soi 16
These are really popular places to stay and the prices just went up. This particular Citadines is located in a quieter area. Just like the rest the rooms are very clean and modernly furnished.

Citadines Bangkok Sukhumvit 23
Room Rate 1999 THB - 37/7 Sukhumvit Road Soi 23
Another high quality Citadines property located closes to Soi Cowboy.

Admiral Suites
Room Rate 1599 THB - 38,38/14 Sukhumvit Road Soi 22
This hotel is closest to all of the oil massage parlors near Phrom Phong district, about a 5 to 10 minute walk west of Sukhumvit Road.

Inside the Heart of the Beast - Nana Entertainment Plaza

NEP has 3 floors filled with go-go bars catering to men who are straight, gay and both. Say hi to the short dude standing as a greeter. He's cool!

Agreed, Nana hotel is not the newest and best but it's probably one of the best locations for freelancers and bar girls. I just got back from a 5 night stay after reading your reviews and found it helpful.

I prefer Nana Hotel myself. Not the newest or nicest but definitely closes to bar girl and freelance action.

My favorite is Dawin Bangkok and I've booked there again for my trip in December. I was there 3 months ago and was very satisfied with my stay. They do have clean rooms and since it's a new hotel it looks just like the pictures on the website. Best of all it's just a short walk to Nana Plaza and the girls in Nana parking lot.

I like Hip Hotel too, its got nice big rooms, very clean and modern looking. And the location of the hotel is right in the heart of soapy massage central. Really good hotel and I recommend it to everyone too.

I stayed both at the Hip Hotel and Palazzo and agree these hotels are very high quality and the room rates are so cheap. Best thing of all is I was near the best soapy massage parlors. And check out Huay Kwang, because you'll see many beatiful ladies there. I love Bangkok and your website for showing me the best!
