It's an old grand hotel, I just stayed there. It's clean though and hotel staff is really professional. It's not bar girl friendly so if that's what you're looking for I wouldn't stay there. Patpong is short walk to hotel with many go go bars and shopping areas.

Enjoyed my stay at the Montien. Close to the patpong naughty bars and very central location in the city with many restaurants, massage parlors and train station in close walking. I would stay again at the Montien next time I visit Bangkok.

A good hotel, I don't think it is overpriced because back home in the US I'd be paying 3x for a the quality of Montien. I booked a superior room and it has an excellent view outside. My room is big and the bed comfortable with modern fixtures. Bathroom is big and very clean. And location of this hotel can't be beat. It's right in front of Patpong and many go go bars. Train stations are close by. I'm a happy camper when I'm staying here.

    Overpriced in my opinion.

I booked a room here at the Montien for 3 nights here. Your reservation service is quite prompt and professional. I also appreciate your reviews for hotels, they are quite spot on with accurate information. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here to use your services.

Great rooms with a view, but my room on the 14th floor was just a bit dated though I noticed furniture is newer. I'll definitly be coming back maybe trying an upgrade room. I remember the price for the rooms here were higher too but I guess after all the shenanigans they've lowered it.

Me too, I also took advantage of the special deal, it's a very good discount and I always love staying at Montien whenever I'm here for business. The rooms are spacious and the balcony has a great view of Bangkok, so make sure you request high rooms.

Took advantage of the discounted room rate. Thanks for looking out for the deals, I always rely on your info for choosing hotels whenever I go to Bangkok. Have a great new year!

I like staying at Montien, this is my 4th stay here. Even thoughthe rate went up considerably I didnt mind since it's a familiar place. It's worth the money and I really like drinking and lounging at Patpong.

Super hotel stay at Montien Hotel. I shopped to my hearts content while constantly hitting my husband becaues he kept looking inside the go go bars. Don't be scared about staying in Patpong. Even though it's full of go go bars the area is quite safe and you can see men and women walking around from all over the world. Stay in Montien the price is worth it.

Montien is in a great location inside Bangkok. Super close to the BTS train station that can get you to huge shopping malls. We booked a deluxe room for 5 nights and had a great time here. Our room is on the 10th floor and had a good view of the city. Yummy breakfast too in the morning!

Enjoyed this hotel thoroughly! Montien is in a good location close to a red light district buy feel safe there because it's well lit and full of foreign families just wandering around. We did a lot of shopping (as well as a lot of bargaining) and happy with what we bought.

I don't know how old the MOntien is but it's definitely not new. However, it has large clean comfortable rooms as well as the sweetest people working inside. The pool is a big plus when the day gets hot.

Montien not the newest hotel but certainly well maintained. I found the pool to be a welcoming respite in a day. My superior room was quite comfortable, though I wish the furniture was a bit newer. All in all a pretty good deal. I would come back again.

Yes I agree Montien room price has gone done, but good for us. We booked here for 7 nights and saved lots of baht. Hope price is same next year, can not wait to come back again. Thank you so much for recommending Montien to me and friends.

We always stay at the Montien Hotel in Bangkok because we love the area, red light district and all. Many excellent seafood restaurants in the area and shopping is fun for us ladies. Foot massage stores across from the hotel are so cheap and good feeling. Our deluxe hotel rooms are always so clean and bathrooms are big. We love to look outside our private balcony every night. Lovely hotel and a must stay as the price is cheaper now.

My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago and this hotel made our stay 100 times better. Our superior room was in super condition and staff very attentive. We had a great time at Patpong red light zone, yes don't worry, women are welcome there and I even see families walking around.

We'll definitely visit this hotel the next time around!
  • Jose Muno Apr 27, 2009 @ 9:04 pm | delete
Classy hotel at the best location to experience Patpong. I agree, make sure you get a room facing Patpong. You won't regret it!
  • Jeannie Kim Apr 11, 2009 @ 8:54 pm | delete
The Montien is like the king of hotels in this area. We stayed on the 12th floor and the view of the city was beautiful. Our rooms were in excellent shape and the housekeeping was so gracious to our kids. The breakfast was scrumptious and we ate so full we couldn't eat lunch. If we ever come back to Bangkok this is the only place we'll ever stay!
  • Alex Wynn Mar 31, 2009 @ 2:28 pm | delete
Super recommendation because this hotel great. Our rooms had balconies facing Patpong with a view all the way to the park. Fantastic hotel employees who made our vacation more enjoyable. You won't be sorry staying here.

What an incredible hotel location. Great view from room balcony and I could see all the neon glitz of Patpong. This is a very good hotel to stay in. It's old but still classy with lots of old style charm and service. I'll definitely come back! Thanks for the recommendation pal! Harold Mak

Excellent choice for a stay in Patpong. It's like the roads of sex and booze leads right into Motien lol! This hotel is just a bit dated but everything is very well kept and the staff who work here are top notch. I stayed on the 12th floor in a standard room with a nice view from the balcony. Pricewise it's great so I took advantage of the rates.
  • Marvin Mills Jan 30, 2009 @ 12:13 pm | delete
I've been staying at the Montien in Patpong for over 7 years for holiday. This is ideally suited for convienent visits to the ladies of Patpong =) Sorry mate, ddin't mean to get off subject.
I always stay in the superior rooms with balconies with really good views of Lumphini and all the surrounding areas. Free buffet breakfast fills me throughout the day and the hotel staff treat me and my company like royalty. Will I come back. Hell Yeah!!

Stayed here for a week and a half early December. Staff was rude even when there weren't many people around so it wasn't like they were busy. Very nice hotel if it wasn't for the stinky attitude towards guest.
