Symptoms of Depression

How do you know if you are depressed and feeling worthless?

You may see signs of depression. These signs may include loss of sleep, inability to function well in daily life, work and even inability to interact with others. Some have a problem with just getting out of bed in the morning. So, depression can interfere with life or even completely take over a life.

What's a Person to do when Depressed and feeling Worthless?

Should you reach for drugs?

Drugs cause additional health problems. So, look for natural ways to banish these feelings.

Here are some natural solutions for depression. Natural solutions do not have side effects that lead to further health issues.

Use Healthy Habits

These healthy habits should include: a regular routine of eating and sleeping, regular exercise, don't isolate yourself, talk to friends. Read uplifting books, see funny movies, listen to upbeat music.

I want to emphasize the importance of a nutritious healthy diet. There will be more information on this subject later. It is much too important not to give you all the facts. Be sure to read the book Food and Behavior.

Pets can also be part of our healthy habits. They are loyal and affectionate and can bring us joy and happiness helping us banish stress, depression and feelings of worthlessness.

Food and Behavior

This is more important than most think in feelings of Self-Worth, Happiness and Accomplishment

This material if fantastic. It has been rated 5 Star.

Barbara Stitt has made this subject her life's' work. She has been empacting thousands of happier people-and maybe many more. She recently has been awarded a life achievement award by CARA. It was for saving $20 million dollars in the Sacramento California area when they applied her nutritional-good food approach.

Don't miss out on this great information.

I had the privilege of interviewing her, and that material will be brought to you in greater detail later.

***Additional Nutritional information from Barbara. She checked out this site and emailed me the following:

The four most frequently 'undetected' causes of depression are:

High and Low Blood Sugar, Vitamin D3 deficiency, Omega-3 deficiency, and if connected with compulsions - zinc. (With high daily stress there are always B-Complex and Vitamin C deficiencies.)

Aluminum, lead and/or mercury and cadmium can totally do people in.

Laughter is wonderfully uplifting - however, you can't laugh out deficiencies or heavy metals - which few people in the health field think about.

She also gave some additional info on how to test for deficiencies or heavy metals. You may contact me for that if you wish.

Check it out her book for yourself. I think we all need one in our library.

Do Not Isolate Yourself.

Friends and Family are very important.

Ask for help! Friends and family care and want to support you. You must let them in.

Learn from others' experiences.

Smile- a smile helps you and those that see you.

Reach out. Help others that need you. When you begin to help others, you take the focus off of yourself and instead focus on their needs. In that way you help yourself and others too.

Sometimes this is enough to help you get through your depression.

Reduce your Stress Level

I know it's easier said than done-but, work on reducing your stress.

By reducing stress you are turning your depression and your feelings of worthlessness around.

Realize it will take time.

See if you are getting the results you need.

Laugh

Laughter is the Best Medicine

Do this every day and all night long if you feel like it.

You can get the funniest movies. Get the ones you will roll on the floor with because they are so hilarious.

Just laugh

Be Positive and Think Happy Thoughts

Choose to think positive thoughts

You can always go into two different directions. Choose to go in a more positive direction. The choice is yours.

Look around. We see people that have every reason to be down. They might have severe economic hardship or be in poor health. Yet, they are well adjusted and happy.

On the other hand you see someone else who has every reason to be up, happy and content with life-but they are not.

What causes the difference in these people? Sometimes (not always) the cause is choice.

Choose to do things that will improve your feelings. Stay away from doing things that will bring you down. Be with friends that are positive and can help you keep a positive attitude.

Put on a Happy Face

Yes, it sounds so simple. Just put on a Happy Face.

Do it, and soon it won't be forced, it will become real down to your heart.

Again we sometimes we can control the amount of happiness we feel-by the choices we make.

You May Need Therapy

On Occasion Some Will Need Stronger Measures

If your problems are severe you may need to see your health care practitioner.

It is sometimes called "Talk therapy." This is needed in some situations. Depending on the severity of the depression, treatment can take a few weeks or longer. However, it is possible in some cases, to make significant improvement in 10 to 15 visits.

Ask your friends who they recommend.

Consult with a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist.

Be Happy. Life is too short to be otherwise.

You and your family are worth the time and effort.

Do what you need to feel happy

Indeed, depressed people need all the help they can get. I also believe in a healthy diet, especially high in serotonin for those who are depressed. Thank you!
