I work for Legal Helpers, a consumer bankruptcy law firm. I'm not a lawyer so my perspective is probably more like everyone else's. Working here has been an eye opening experience for me so I thought I'd share a bit about what I've learned. Maybe some of this info can help people in debt.
The Odds are Against Us
Lenders have the advantage and the government is not inclined to help consumers.
The government doesn't want to help us. The economy is built on us spending more, not less. It's up to us to figure out the truth and adjust our lives accordingly. I hope the resources I pull together here will help you out.
The average American isn't saving money, 401(k) and pension plans are evaporating, corporate bankruptcies are eliminating what pensions were established and social security is unreliable as a plan for retirement.
What will happen to those aged 25-45 when we hit 70? Think about it. To me, this is a serious problem.
